Im trying to find a HPS light im only growing one plant so not trying to spend tons of money, so where can i find a ballast and light that works good and a good price?
Seriously?? Do people around here know where you live? Whats next? Whereto buy your pots, scissors and hoses from? Using common sense...You should look around where u live, for growshops, home improvement centers, lowes, home depot, walmart..etc etc. or online. Buy a 250W
yeah seriously? im not trying to buy a shitty light and its my first grow what you want me to do go up to the dude in lowes and be like is this a good light for growing weed? didnt think so. i didnt know what places sell which brands and the quality of the brands.
Hps = high pressure sodium. Ask for it by name.look at shelves. Buy 250w with ballast. If at growshop buy dual spectrum lamp. A simple SEARCH wouldve given you all this info. And so wouldve the STICKIES. Do a lil research and you wont need to ask for such basic of info.
lumatek, don't go cheap my boy. I read a post some time ago that stuck, it went something along the lines of after 25 years the guy had found that parabolic and diamond hoods were the best hoods and also the bulb is in the vertical axis. so I went with this.

What did you end getting .. I'm thinking about getting HP's from eBay or amazon I'll send you links . theres a hydrofarm 150w HP's only with bulb and built in ballast with reflector for 60 bucks or you can get a 250 watt dual meaning it can do hps or mh all built into the reflector ballast and all for like 117 bucks bit it doesn't come with a bulb ..
