Hi all! I just have one quick question that seems to trip me up....I've heard that the HPS light bulbs (1,000w) should be replaced every 6 months. Is this true or are folks overly concerned about the strength of the lumens? To be on the safe side (my bulbs are from November of 2013) I've ordered new ones, but not sure if they are necessary? My grow has changed quite a bit with yield and plant health and wonder if this correlates to needing to replace the bulbs? Any ideas / suggestions are a great help and thanks to all who give me their insight!
Light bulbs are cheap, buy new ones every 6 months and keep the old ones as spares. I had one die after 6 hours but it was replaced free. View attachment 1322261
Kinda my thoughts as well....keep the old ones for backup. New ones are on the way so will be back at 110% soon! Thanks for your help! BTW: That bulb looks like it took it tough! LOL Glad all is okay!
