Hello peeps, had a question Hoping somebody, anybody has some input. Well the hot days r coming. So I thought I’d get prepared By putting my drivers in my old HPS hood. Does anybody see a problem with this as far as heat or danger? Probably should’ve asked this question before starting. Here are some pictures it will be vented into my attic through a carbon filter. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I think it’ll get pretty damn hot. Might wanna install a direct mini fan on top the hood blowing on the drivers.
Thanx GG, I was going to mount it from the ceiling I will test it with the glass off With some fans pointed at it and see what happens. I could get a temperature from an IR thermometer gun. Anybody else with any input or concerns please let me know Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Might be a good idea you got there, but you better push a lot of air across em'. I'll be moving my drivers outside the tent when summer hits.
Thanx HardDrive, It’s supposed to be hot where I live for two days and then it’s going to drop but The HEAT is Coming and I Just started flowering on April 1. I will definitely let you know how things go. And if anybody else has advice PLEASE chime in. Here’s the girls Blissful wizard Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I have a very small fan that I point at my driver and it cools it very well . It doesn't take much air to make a big difference mine went from pretty hot to the touch to now you can't tell it's even on by touching. But you do have alot of them in one place.... Plants look good man
Thanks josh, I put it up last night didn’t hook up the vent nor did I put on the glass just had a fan on the hood because my canopy temperature never got over 80 and I don’t need it YET . It didn’t even get that hot I was kind of surprised. Was going to add another two HLG240’s that I’m not even using (right now) but I think it would just be way too heavy Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If possible, move all of the drivers outside of the tent. These are generating a good portion of your heat. Mount them on a nearby wall, or on them on the outside of the tent.
With the drivers outside of the tent, my temperatures are typically 1-5 degrees Fahrenheit above relative temperature.
