HPS & Fluoros

  1. I am soon to start an indoor grow in a small closet about 3x2x6 and when i tested my 400 watt HPS i realized there is no way I can grow with temperatures around 95 degrees. I had a decent size fan on high, but there isn't a way i can circulate air in and out. So i was wondering if it wouldn't be too hard on the plant and bulb if i was to alternate the light on and off every hour, while simultaneously running fluorescence?

  2. the shock of the constantly changing light will kill your plant or at least make it go hermie

  3. I disagree.
Boy what a pain it would be but if the light is not interupted to much it will not go hermie. If you keep the CFL on the entire 18/6 period and supplement it with the HPS, I anticipate the plant should be fine. I guess you can't get an exhaust fan set up in the room?
