I want to add a different kind of lights to my 5x5. Right now I am running 480w kingbrite board. I was thinking about getting a 400w dimmable hps (yield lab). Also was looking at 315 cmh lights and the phlizon cree cob. Cant afford to get more qb's want to go cheaper and get the mixed spectrum. Any suggestions? 315 is good and efficient! They hps is decent but neither are big enough for a 5x5 but u hotta do what u gotta do,,u running the 480w with one of them? Sent from my SM-J727P using Tapatalk
CMH all the way! I Run 1 in my 5x5 with 4 QB boards and consistently hit 4oz per plant with 700watts total. 6 plants in flower at a time. the bulbs last 2.5 years if just running in flower, provide an amazing spectrum, and put off very little heat.
CMH is a great pairing for LED lighting, they have a great synergy in spectrum and CMH can be nearly as close to the plants as LED can. I used to flower with CMH and LED supplemental, now I use mostly LED (HLG QB's) but am revamping my room to include some CMH again as well.
Yes hopefully that'll be enough I'm just using the 480 now Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Grasscity Forum mobile app

Prism Lighting Science 315W Ceramic Metal Halide CMH Ballast Philips Bulb Combo 120/240V I've had good luck with Prism. Been running the ballast for 2 years without issue. That link is a ballast bulb combo for 197 with free shipping which is a killer price. I've always ran the Phillips bulbs but would like to try eye hortilux. I only run mine in flower so the bulb will only lose 20ish percent of the output at 4 ish years so I won't be in the bulb market for quite some time.
