i havent used hydro before but from what i read it seems like an easier growing medium to work in. would soil really be easier? can i use soil in that box?
I agree. I would not waste my money on that. I built my box for less than that and it can hold 4 mature plants. I spent around $300, but it can be done with $100-$150 easily. Soil is the way to go, in my opinion. Just water, and you are good to go. Vs. buying and mixing nutrients and leaching the soil before harvest. But, it can be fun if you like that sort of thing.

Six hundred is kinda pricey, but they include everything but seeds... If you're not a DIY type, this isn't that bad a deal... DWC is much easier than soil. If you run a decent nute load, you can let them go un-attended for several days at a time. A 4 day weekend away is nothing if you're using DWC. -Loki
Im really not a DIY person. im afraid if i build something ill forget something or design it incorrectly, the pc grow box looks easier but everyone else is saying it isnt worth it
Here is the thing, if money not an issue then buy it,nothing wrong with that. I personally can not afford to spend $600 on something that I can make my self and spend 3-4 times less money, but it is just me.
Well, the first lesson you need to learn is don't listen to everyone else. If you price everything in that package out with shipping, I'd be surprised if you don't end up around $300-400... So a couple hundred for something ready to grow, doesn't sound that bad to me. Saves you the time spend building it and re-building anything that's not right... it adds up. -Loki
DWC is about as easy as it gets... very very forgiving and very low maintenance. For first time growers, soil can be tricky. Noobs will get the impluse to water too often... -Loki
Deep Water Culture... basically, your roots sit in your nute solution which has an air stone in it to add oxygen... No moving parts except for the aquarium air pump attached to the air stone. check our mr pc grow pc cases, theyre pretty sweet. and much cheaper. Although I can't comment much because I've never actually seen one in action
Even though you're not a DIYer, I would still suggest you look elsewhere to buy your growbox. I've seen boxes that have been half the price then what u listed. I know your probably excited to get your grow on, but honestly do your research (first on growboxes, then on growing) and I'm sure you can find something cheaper, maybe better than your first results.
I would definitely recommend checking out MrGrowPro. They don't come with as many extras but the case itself is pretty great, also a few inches taller. The lightproofing isnt perfect and you may want to make a few tweaks to the setup, but for $300 they're pretty well priced if you don't have the resources to build your own.
