How to tell my parents Im going to keep smoking after probation?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by JurBoiPaj, Jan 25, 2014.

  1. Let me sum this up as short as possible.
6 months ago, I got put on probation due to getting two possession charges. My parents had caught me smoking and doing other unmentionables dozens of times and they didn't approve at all, it was at the stage where they figured they couldn't stop me I guess.
When I had to go through court and all that shit it was a pretty big turning point for me and the first time I really had to take adult responsibility(I was 17 at the time) My parents have been really proud of me and all that for doing the right thing and staying clean during this. Now I have less than three months on probation and I don't know how to tell my parents that I plan to start smoking again, although much more responsibly. Should I tell them at all?
    Any opinions?

  2. Show them you'll be responsible with it,, dont tell them because you'll leave room for doubt

  3. Get employed and help around the house and pay your own, they can't nick pit your lifestyle choices if you don't give them the opportunity to.
That means you have to go above and beyond being a responsible son who can take care of yourself so they don't have ammunition to argue you shouldn't be using any substances due to your poor life choices that you are acting on while living under their roof.

  4. I'm so sorry that happened to you; we need to change these insane laws.

Don't tell anyone, just take measures to ensure that you never get caught again.

Your parents can think that you're not smoking -- you don't need the hassle.

  5. If you're 18 then it shouldnt matter what your parents say as long as youre not smokin in the house... Assuming they arent okay with that. But if you wanna be honest then just tell them. They will be disappointed unless you show them you're responsible enough. Idk how you're gonna show them though.

  6. What are you talking about? Obviously I'm not going to smoke until I'm off. That's why i said AFTER probation. I haven't failed any of my piss tests and I don't plan on it.
