How to tell difference between indica and sativa

its hard to tell by looking at the buds but indicas generally have more dense shorter buds and sativas have longer skinnier buds. and as for highs indicas are relaxing,kind of a numb high, couchlock, tired during come down, munchies. sativa highs are energetic and make your thoughts a lot deeper... pretty much the opposite of a indica. hope this helped

you gotta smoke for at least a few years to be able to distinguish the 2...

generally you can tell the difference by the looks, the smell, the taste and the high.

the high is generally the easiest way to tell the difference....if you feel a stoned effect, and you feel dumb and lazy, and if it smells piney, like a tree, you most probably have an indica.

and if the high makes you more energetic, more social, and more lively, and the smell is somewhat fruity, then you my friend have yourself a sativa.

Sativa: colors are more vibrant to me, things are trippy, I like to think deeply about things, I like to talk to people, go out and do stuff, draw, write, ride a bike, take a hike, go fishing, go on a drive, walk around a mall.

Indica: Sit and listen to music, eat food, get on the computer, my arms feel like they are floating up, I close my eyes and feel like I am falling, my body feels really heavy when I walk around, I get extremely sleepy when I come down, don't want to do anything but sit, my entire body goes numb, I feel sections of my body doing their on seperate things, arms floating, head spinning in circles, torso sinking, and legs fell off.

Uhh, I disagree with part of your post. The more fruity like kush? Kush is an Indica strain, and it smells fruity. Piney smells could just mean it was grown outside, or in a more natural environment than hydroponically.

 

Pretty much. Most are a blend, though. 50/50, 70/30, etc.

One might be more sativa dominant, and one might be more indica dominant. I personally like both, but I feel more productive and less of a burn out if I smoke sativa. But there is nothing like smoking an indica dominant, turning on some God is an astronaut, and fucking up peoples days on Halo 3 for a few hours.

However, when having them in front of you I'm usually able to decipher them from their smells. Sativas smell a bit more "fire-y" I guess and Indicas usually smell a lot like the dank type of stuff. Most kushs and purples are usually indicas although there are exceptions to every rule.

 

As previously stated,

You can tell soley by the high. If you don't feel like doing shit and you just wanna sit on your ass and melt into the couch, then it's an Indica. It has a 'body' high. If you feel you're cranium is whirling around and instead of being tired, you feel energized, it's a Sativa. Those are generally the distinguishing characteristics. People tend to be more 'thoughtful' on Sativas as well. It's a 'head' high.

 

i find that once you smoke both types even without bein told which is which you will be able to tel. indica i find will give you the i cant feel my legs arms w/e feeling whereas sativa gives you an uplifted veiw on life an makes you feel like bein active and doin somethin

 

Both are at extreme highs.


Sativa

I had some sativa and I smoked a huge bowl of it, and walked to the store because my eyes were red as hell, and I needed visine bad. My body felt like it was moving faster than my head and I stopped walking every couple of seconds as to let my head catch up with my body. I was basically out of my body stoned.

Indica

Glued to your couch as they say. Usually the way I can tell if its indica is I will feel my skin rustling against my clothes and it feels really funny but still really cool. Your skin will feel really fuzzy, like you can feel the hairs on your body and the clothes on your skin.

Sativa- "Green Buds", Head High, energetic, talkative, lively.

Indica- "Purple Buds", Body High, relaxed, couchlocked.
