A friend gave me 2 plants in a single pot about 1 foot to 2 feet tall vegging. IDK sex yet but its really wilty. I went and got 2 10 quart containers but I need to know how to possibly save it after transplant.
I'm not sure how viable separating the 2 plants would be at this point. I'm assuming not. If they can't be separated, you're going to want a pot bigger than 2.5 gallons. Also without knowing how your friend was caring for them it's hard to tell what the problem is. Wilting can be a sign of overwatering. I would transplant the plants into some good soil and then flush it. After the flush give a regular feeding of some quality nutes and then at least you'll have basically hit the reset button and know where to go if problems continue or arise later. Let the soil on top get dry before watering again so you can make sure that overwatering wasn't the problem. I'm not sure whether you have a proper grow setup or not and what your previous experience with growing is. Good luck saving them.
The stems are healthy and solid and the leaves look perfect, its just wilty. I have a set up already for some others I have going. They were in there basement for a while and its kinda cold around here.
its dry. The stuff Im mixing up now is pretty moist. If its already most how much should I water it? Itll be a 10 quart for now. Till water comes out maybe?
As long as the water drains out it doesn't really matter. To flush, run water in the amount of three times the size of the pot. So about 7-8 gallons of water for a 10 quart pot. This will leech out any salts that have built up in the soil. After it's flushed, you'll probably want to give it a feeding because all the nutes will be washed away. What nutes do you use anyway?
I got some brand new soil that I mixed with perlite. I just picked up some MG, all I could find tonight at walmart. It says 1/2 tsp per gallon, I just put in like maybe an eighth into one gallon
I strongly recommend against MG, your plants can wait until tomorrow for proper nutes if that's all you've got. If money is an issue though and you can't afford proper nutes, then yes probably only do 1/8 tsp. MG is very hot and will easily nute burn your plants. Definitely don't go by package instructions with MG.
The roots of the two plants were intertwined quite a bit. I heared a lot of them tear, do you think they will recover or go back and try to grow some stronger roots? Also I would like to LST them, how long do you think I will have to wait to start training them since they just went through the shock of transplant and roots getting torn off? Id also like to top them to try and increase yield, each plant has 6+ sets of leaves I have some 6500 cfls on them currently that I plan to run 24/7 for now. stems are solid and purple. I went ahead and filled a gallon jug with luke warm water, a ton of sugar and some yeast, I fit a tube into the top of the lid and have it coming out between the two plants. I realise it won't create a /ton/ of CO2 but I figured the more the better anyway. But yeea back to the original question, how long till I can lst
I have no idea how long it will take for the roots to heal. I have a feeling this grow isn't going to go very well. It's also too late to lst. You should start lst at the third or fourth set of leaves. You're well past that now.
Dang, well the good news is today when I opened it up the plants don't look wilty anymore so I guess that is a good start. It seemed kinda dry-ish since the heat was running all night so I turned my vapo on and got some moist air in there. They were by no means cracking though. Im not really sure how a healthy leaf should feel. I noticed at the bottom of my plant there are some smaller growths coming out of the stem, some leaves and what not. I'm wondering if I can pinch the top and see if it will get more bushy
I'd wait at least a week before trying to top. They've been through enough stress already. You don't want them to hermie on you if they turn out to be female. It can only put so much work into healing itself and it already has to work on the roots.
I did a light mist on the underside of the fan leaves to help it feed since its roots are damaged, I was hoping this would also help it get back up on its feet
