How to remove male plants?

  1. I'm very new. First grow. Wondering how exactly the male/female plant thing works. Just put my two into flowering and am lost as to how I remove male plants when i notice them. Looked around the forums but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Any videos on removing the male plants or guide to removing them. Thanks, any help would be great.

  2. I'm pretty sure once you starting seeing the pollen sacks You just, well, cut the stem and throw It in your trash.

  3. Well they look totally different. You really cant make that mistake. Google imagine cannabis sexing. Youll see endless pictures.

How do you remove it? You tear it up. Easy.

  4. Thanks for the info yall. I'm just trying to make sure and cover all my bases. So cut the stem from the main stalk right, that has the male on it.

If you see a male.....just take the whole pot outside gently as to not disturb the plant......and then cut the plant out of the pot......and get rid of the soil

  6. Or just rip it out of the pot or earth. Its not likes a tree unless you have a friggin tree that some people grow outside.

You have the jest of it. No male = no female impregnation. No female impregnation = no ruining of your crop. No ruining of your crop = win.

  7. HAHA thats the goal :hello:

  8. ^word. Like they said, you want to remove the whole plant, not just a branch. It's not a "male branch", it's a male plant. Pick up the pot and remove it from your grow room. Toss the plant before it has time to release any pollen.

  9. Kill it with fire! Flamethrower should do it.

  10. I know nearly everyone including myself throws away male plants, but I am sure I've heard that you can make hash with male plants, that could be a productive use of it, after all, you have paid to raise it.

  11. oh yeah you definatly can make hash out of it.....but the main thing is to remove it from your grow enviornment....after you remove it you can do whatever you want with it....

oh and OP....another tip....and this is very important

after you remove a male plant from your grow area and do what you want with it. Take off your clothes....wash them and get in the shower before you return to your grow area.

In the process of moving the male plant it is possible that you could disturb the pollen sacks and inadvertently get pollen on your clothes....and when you return to your grow area the pollen can fall onto your female plants.....which is not good

  12. Yo! All u do is cut it! And dispose of the evidence in some deep dark forest.

  13. Hi all,
    I need HELP!
I'm pretty new with growing. This being only my second grow, my plant in the pic here, yes, I'm proud of it, BUT it turned out to be a male. I still have about 4 weeks before harvesting. I hate to have wasted all this time and money and dispose of him. Can I pull the pollen sacks off as they grow?? and will the plant still be good smokin' ??  will the buds still produce a lot or a little seed?? It's lookin real nice, and smellin great!  Does pollen stay on walls and all my supplies?? I don't want to contaminate my next crop.
    Thank you all
