How to presprout and store.

  1. I seen a product that says prespouted, the product is sold whole seed prespouted. You can then grind down your self and use as top dress or put into a water.
    Are they litterally just sprouting then and then letting them dry out? I want to make my own, I don't mind making SST but I like the idea of having it like this.

    Hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction.

    You can buy alfalfa sprouts in the grocery store, but they're expensive. That's pre-sprouted.

  4. If so, look for a local homebrew store. I buy malted barley and rice hulls there.

  5. a great way to use up any hermi seeds or even just old weed seeds, I have n the past used my excess seeds this way but I get better results from my comfrey teas.

    its difficult to judge your returns, unless you have a control

    its fun to make and watch the radicle's (tails) grow out then crushing them up, praying you have the right seeds avoid toking for this very reason ...lol

  6. Any malted grain at your local brew supply store will work. Purchase whatever they have on sale. Coots explains this in one of the podcasts he took part in. I've used malted rye, 2 and 6 row malted barley with equal results. They provide enzymes such as phosphatase, chitinase, urease, and amylase that, instead of feeding your plant directly, feed the microbes in your soil; helping them break down nutrients and make them more available for your plant. Get un-ground malted grain. Grind only what you need when top dressing. Once ground, the enzymes quickly lose their effectiveness.
