Hey.. So im going off to college next week, and Im wondering if it's safe to bring an acoustic guitar? and I also play drums and am very dedicated to that, but I know I can't bring a set.. What should I do about this? Thanks.
I personally don't see there being a problem if you're intending on bringing an acoustic. Plenty of my friends have done it, so I would assume it's fine.. unless for some reason your college is ridiculously strict. As for the drums: unfortunately acoustic drums are loud as hell, so those are definitely a no-go. The only way that I'm aware of that's alright in a lot of places would be to purchase an electric drum set as well as some headphones. Now, this won't negate sound entirely.. there still will be contact made between the sticks and the pads. However, this is a hell of a lot quieter than acoustic drums. Also, have you seen your dorm? Is there going to be enough room for all of this?
An acoustic will be fine. If you can at all play it, it will likely get you laid a lot. If you got an electric kit and could fit it in your dorm, it should be fine, the only problem would be if you played it in the middle of the night or pissed off your roommate doing it.
