How to make airtight seal?

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by bombb413, Sep 10, 2012.

  1. Hi Grasscity,
I was wondering how i would cover the spaces in between the door and door frame. I put a towel over the bottom of the door and use tape on the sides, and top. However tape makes noise when you unroll it. So is there a way to unroll tape with out sound? or are there other things i could use to make a "air tight" seal?

  2. Simple dont blaze in your parents house if they dont want you too. Jus go outside

  3. Um, you don't want an airtight seal.

It's like putting a giant bag over your head and breathing for a while.

Eventually, you're going to run out of oxygen.

Do what the poster above me said, just go outside. Or buy a vaporizer, no smell.

  4. I'm counting the days till i don't live with them. That would be my number one choice, but there is no way out.

  5. I used to be in your spot man, we all been there. My parents dont care about the herb now so im good. When they did care, id either smoke in the shower (100% fullpoof) or go outside for 5 min also fullproof

  6. please think about what you've said and correct the errors

  7. The airtight comment is a reasonably sound one.

It would take him a hell of a long time, but he could suffocate if he somehow made his entire room airtight.

  8. haha, yeah, but it was pretty obvious that he was talking about one door, and generally rooms have windows and possibly another door.

  9. how loud is your tape?

Based on the definition of airtight, I don't have to rethink anything.

If you're breathing in an airtight room (although almost infeasible to be in unless the room is designed for that purpose), you're eventually going to run out of oxygen. Unless of course you have plants in your room.

You would be right in saying that creating an airtight room is impossible with tape, because it is. Gas has the ability to effuse through extremely small openings.

  11. you implied that he was trying to make his entire room airtight when he was really trying to seal off one door so that people on the other side of that door wouldn't smell the weed. generally rooms people live in don't just have one door and no ventilation of any other kind.

  12. Take the party outside

  13. More like he implied that, and I subtly explained to him why an 'air-tight' seal should not be the desired goal here, as it has adverse consequences, without bluntly pointing out how the term 'air-tight' is an infeasible goal to endeavor regardless.

I thought I would take the health conscious approach instead of the one regarding effectiveness, as that usually hits home more significantly.

  14. an air tight seal IS the goal (not the desired goal, goal implies it is desired). he wants to seal off a door so that he can smoke (most likely out a window) and the smoke won't go where he doesn't want it to. as i said before, it was pretty clear that he was not intending to make his room entirely air tight - that implies that there is no ventilation in the room other than that one door.

  15. It makes enough noise for my parents to hear it.
