hi. wondering if any of you know how to make a transparency antialiased? look at the pic of my sig. both hands are on a transparent background, but the edges are not antialiased. anyone knows?
damn! I always forget to check the spelling of da title... .. well paint shop pro 6 or photoshop6 but if U know tell me not software wise, but methodology-wise (had to look that one up in the dic!) (i use mostly psp, which i have a license for, but i could install a photoshop6 quickly do my thing and uninstall it..)
you've obtain quasi the same result as i have (good thing: i know i don't need photoshop ) thx for trying, it spares me the burdun of installing to see it doesn't help no I've been going through the spec of gif and it's not possible. we need to assign a color to "blending" and that is only available in PNG picture format. MODs could be allowed to use the PNG format ... please . .. ? you may wanna know that: gif is not good: http://burnallgifs.org/ Why/What is png: http://www.xs4all.nl/~collin/png-eng.html
The only thing we can attach is gif or jpeg....jpeg's don't support transparencies What program uses the PNG format? I'm so used to PS that all I use is .gif and .psd That website is very interesting...only problem is I make a lot of animated gifs....can you make animated PNG's? EDIT- Nevermind...the second website you posted explained it for me.
the animated png is commin'up (sorry for the bold font; i didn't know you is a moderator ..) png RULEZ .. (have a look ate the second link I put)
Well, I only became a mod about 2 days ago And as far as I can see I don't have any special attachment priveleges. I don't know if I could abandon gifs...I make more animated stuff than I do static things. Plus, I have a pirated copy of PS anyway...they didn't get any money out of me
Reasons to use png: http://www.atalasoft.com/PNG.aspx here is a quote: All About Alpha Perhaps the best thing a PNG has to offer is what's called the alpha channel. An alpha channel is one byte of extra data per pixel (or palette entry for 8-bit images) that represents the transparency level of a pixel. A PNG image with alpha is capable of 256 levels of transparency. What does all this mean? For one thing, you can antialias text and images so that sharp curves look good against any background. You can apply a true drop shadow which fades into the background. You can create images that take any shape or form. There are many possibilities with alpha transparency.
toy around with png, and you'll never be able to use plain transparency anymore.. (it's like a wheel on the mouse: once you've tasted it, you can't live without it!) like the city !! U may wanna take a look at the offcial homepage: http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/ and MNG is the png format for animations: http://www.libpng.org/pub/mng/
yeah, once that done, get it approved by SJ, i bet it's only a filter to modify, he adds the extention .png, and we'll be able to use png.
