how to lower the ph in soil

  1. I am growing Silly diesel in soil. They are in planter boxes and i am suffering nute lock out. My Question is what is the quickest way to lower the soil ph . with a cheap meter is is reading well ver 8 and these babies are looking pretty sick
  2. I hate to tell you, but if that's a cheap soil ph meter (with the probes you stick in the soil), then don't trust that reading too much. Test some drier soil vs wetter soil and you'll see what I mean.

Lockout is normally caused by low ph in soil after several feedings, you might want to double check before lowering the soil ph...
  3. you want your ph between 6.0 - 6.5 for soil for full nute take up !
  4. heli_mad - actually nutrients start locking out at 6.4 and lower in soil...
  5. i ride my PH in ffof at about 6.8 and am lovin my rewards. never gone as low as 6.4 though
