A friend who is growing in the basement wants to know if you can use warm air from the reflective hoods and link the ducting with the already existing heater vent and shoot all that air through out the house? witch would give more warm air the 6 or 8 inch ducting?
Depends on the size of the fan moving the air, or are you talking about the existing ductwork in the house?
Yes and it's very easy. Before I started using co2, I blew the air off 4 1000 watt hps lamps down into my floor hvac vent and it kept the rest of the house toasty. A basement wouldn't be much different. Just cut a T into the ductwork but make sure you have enough wattage to heat the entire home because you can't run the central heat if you vent your room into the ductwork. A 600 watt light won't heat a four bedroom house... 4000 watts used to warm my two bedroom really well but my house has ZERO insulation. Also depends how cold it gets where you live. Also, if your lights aren't hot enough to heat your house, u could always run a duct separate from the hvac system into one room, I've done that before too.
