I have a small aloe plant I have had for awhile and now want to grow it into a huge plant. I have it in straight compost and it hasn't been growing much. The edges of the aloe leaves are curled. Its in a little 6 inch pot right now, I want to put it in a 3 or 5 gallon bucket and fill it up with a good soil mix. Any suggestions on brand of soil and tips on how to make them grow big and fast?
Aloe is a succulent. They like sandy soils with great drainage. They don't like being in a saturated medium. Sent from my LG-D851 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I was thinking just grab a bag of soil made for cactuses. But if theres any tricks that will help them grow faster I want to do it. Maybe adding a layer of rocks for drainage or adding sand to the cactus mix.

Hey mclover, If you want to use the aloe for its virtues, make sure to put in in a nice organic cactus soil. If you have some chemical stuff in there it won't be as good! Cheers
