How to drill holes for a long wooden pipe

  1. Hey guys, first time poster here! I was wondering what I should use to drill the holes for my pipe. I'll put an image below. I've already got the base holes ready I just need something to connect them through the pipe. I was thinking about just drilling through with one of those swirled drill bits but I'm almost sure it won't be long enough so then I just figured why not drill through the one end and the opposite end so I just have a mouthpiece and carb but I was hoping to just have a mouthpiece and bowl. Also I plan to have a metal bowl on the top such as a socket so no wood smoke for me. Thanks for help in advance!
Oh and almost forgot here are the dimensions:
    8 inches long
    1 inch thick

  2. It can be done but be real cautious, if you drill from opposite ends it can be difficult to make sure the channels line up. I tried it once and while I succeeded, I also put a whole through the side of the stem that I had to patch, so be careful of that too. That piece looks thick enough that you shouldn't have too much trouble though. Good luck. Oh and if you don't want a carb just plug that end with a bit of wood, and put a little super glue etc. on the cracks (Just don't get it inside)

  3. just go buy a longer drill bit? its not that expensive

  4. I just ended up cutting the pipes size waaay down. Here is the result[IMG]

And it has a carb on the back

I don't plan on smoking directly out of the top, I was just gonna get a socket or a bowl piece and just sit it in there.
