Be a good son/daughter. Do what they ask you, clean up after yourself, just be responsible and act mature I guess and let them know that you're responsible enough to smoke it, and you can handle your shit. That's what did it for me.

 

My parents are the same. The sheeple have been herded well, eh?

 

I have done all that and more and they still maintain I will go down the road of my grandmother and start using heroin.... No matter the fact I use it to expand the mind, as medicine, and a safe boredom killer, in that order. Not to mention the fact I have a maintaining 4.0 GPA..... You would think all that would be enough for them to chill.... But no... I have been "grounded" for 3 months for being caught red eyed while writing a college psychology paper ... I mean, it would be totally a different matter if I WANSN'T doing my school work, but COME ON. Considering my parents are very young compared to other parents, and my step dad grew/sold MJ since he was 12....
They just don't want me to go down the same road as my step dad or grandmother, but they cannot grasp the fact in combination with the 2 attributes of learned beliefs leading to experiences (like alcohol does), and using it as a catalyst, you can GREATLY expand your mind and personality using MJ. I don't think they understand a stoner like me can exist because they grew up in a hard town. But my great grandfather (Still alive, but old) says their approach is silly, and that if he had any impact on my parents he would try to let them let me smoke for a trial time..
They say they can't trust me, but that is because they FORCE me to lie, I would 100% love being honest with my parents about when and where I smoke or use MJ, because I know I use it more responsibly than most people and WAY more than they did at my age..... Hell, my step dad was smoking ROCKS at my age, while I keep a 4.0 GPA and only smoke on weekends. They say im not responsible, but I already bought a vaporizer to save my lungs the tar from MJ (there IS a lot you have to admit), while my step dad at my age smoked out of aluminum tubes. He barely quit MJ a few months ago, and all his friends still do it. Fuck, I nearly BOUGHT him a vape because he bitched so much about the black stuff he coughs up.
Talk about a huge amount of hypocrisy. Then, when I tell them I want to go to UCLA or UCSD, (because they are great medical schools and I can get a MJ card) they instantly protest because of the distance and my step dad says " You shouldn't pick your college solely on if they have medical marijuana", I'm pretty much like -.-...... I WANT TO GO THERE SO I CAN BE LEGAL WHILE I GO TO SCHOOL BECAUSE IM NOT GONNA STOP! The one thing I can't counter is the legality, and THAT was my solution... But they disapprove. I mean fuck... What do I have to do? I want their blessing because it causes SO much strife in our relationship between each other, but they won't even give me the option to try..... Even my psychiatrist defended me somewhat, but said "you should stop until you move out to avoid conflict, but I totally respect your opinion and your philosophy, it sounds similar to the hippies but I think a lot more young people should have your view".... I mean FUCK, if my psychiatrist is defending me GIVE ME A FUCKING CHANCE.

 

I second this. Also, you should tell them before they find out some other way. This way it will show them you are trying to act mature about the situation, and if they find out some other way they will just be very angry and not receptive to anything you say. If worse comes to worse simply tell them that you will accept their punishments but that you refuse to stop. Not much they can do at that point..

 

Besides refuse to give you any of your stuff (if they still pay for your phone or they own the car) my mom won't even let me get a fucking job because I got caught 3 months ago, nor will she give back my iphone....:/ Grades have dropped from a 4.7 GPA to a 4.0 because of their BULLSHIT.

Then what? When they don't give you your stuff back until you quit or sober up... Granted I have been "clean" for 3 months, its fucking annoying....
