How they looking? A tale of 2 seeds.

  1. Hey all!

Just looking for any opinions on how these look. Flower development seems to have stalled. Not getting fatter.

I had the DeadMau5 far red initiator puck in the room for a few weeks. I think that caused the crazy stretch.

Lights went 12/12 on Nov 1, going into week 7 with flowers. 2 more weeks till I chop.

Northern Lights (Jordon of the Islands)
320W XL QB V2 light, at full power
    2 gallon airpots, cocoperlite
    feeding 2x a day at 700ppm, ph 6.1-6.3
    GH MaxiBloom and Liquid KoolBloom
temps 22-25 daytime, 17 ish... at night
    rh round 50%

the one on the right is like 80% purple leaves now.

left one has all sorts of colours. doesn't look like anything more than N def on some of the 5 finger leaves. which i assume is ok at this point.

neither has any ambers at this point.

    thoughts?

  2. Shit

admins, is there anyway to move this to coco section?

  3. Initially, I would say it looks stalled due to small pot size, but I run 3 gal pots with plants twice that size and I don't have issues

  4. 3 gal with soil or coco?

  5. If I’m reading correctly you said you flipped on Nov 1st. That means they been in flower 61days today.. That’s almost 9 weeks... not 7.

  6. ya the lights have been 12/12 for that long but no flowers for the first 12 days. so i'm just starting week 7 with flowers.

    cheers

  8. They look good to me boss.
What are your lights off temps getting to? The left seems to be coloring up nicely

  9. Thanks Dude!
They usually don't get much colder than 16 degrees, usually around 18.

  11. Cool, ya these are in coco. its hydroponics so pot size isn't really an issue.

    cheers

  12. I’m not sure tbh. Sorry I can’t help you there. But I will chime in and say I’m in coco as well. Wanted to try smaller pots. I have some in 5 gallons and some in 2. 2 gallons are considerably smaller buds than the 5.

Those colors are absolutely gorgeous though @LoneGardener

  13. I think they look great!
The flip starts when you change to 12/12 so I’ve always been told.
    Colors look very nice.

  14. OP is more so correct. I guess theres no wrong here. But typically breeders lister their "flower time" from when buds first start to form which is usually after 10-14 days flip.

So per a breddee, he has been in flower for 7 weeks.

  15. Although you're in coco, and its hydroponics, I've noticed 5-7g pots produce bigger buds than 2g pots. Anything more than 7g in coco you better be growing TREEESSS.

Everything looks pretty good to me though. If your canopy temps are fine I would say the tacoing is from your VPD. (Look up vapor pressure deficit if you haven't).

I havent ran GH nutes (maxibloom etc) but when i was flowering in coco i was around .4-.6 EC (ppms could vary depending on scale) 4x a day.

    Veg was .8-1 EC 2x a day.

    ~15% runoff.

Also the stretch you mentioned with the far red will obviously hurt the internodle spacing i.e. negatively impacting yields.

Other than that, they look beautiful

  19. Thanks for the reply. After re-reading your response I think you nailed a couple things.

I mighta fed a bit hot early on and that internode spacing is crazy.

My challenge with humidity is to keep it down (West Coast climate) i have a dehumidifier running to keep it at 50%. I’m on the edge of ideal with the VPD. Its a trade off to reduce the mould risk. I lost a 1/2lb last year to mould on 2 plants.

    Thanks again!

  20. Ya I tried working with that, counting from 12/12, but for me for planning sake, i need to be more exact with my timing.

I travel a lot so harvest day(s) need to be planned well in advance.

    Cheers
