Genetics has a huge roll in how big a plant gets. You can also use some techniques like LST (low stress training) to keep the plant shorter. But yea if your light is far away from the plant it will stretch and be taller Sent from my iPhone using GC Forum
It'll grow 2-3x taller after you switch to 12/12. If you need to have a plant under....let's say 3feet, you'd want to switch it to flower @ 1-1.5'

But I will research LST, thx!
Here's a good link. You don't necessarily need to use rubber bands. You can tie them down with rope. Just get creative with ideas. http://forum.grasscity.com/plant-training/813094-elastic-training-tutorial.html#post10546178 Sent from my iPhone using GC Forum
When should I apply the LST to the plant(what height or age)? And when and how low in the soil can I plant her stalk goes about 2.5" before leave get there. Keep in mind I want her to be as small(just not tall as shit) as possible.

LST will help a lot. You can bend a plant back onto itself if you have to. And LST can be continued well into the stretch that comes with switching to 12/12 lighting. But if you have maximum headroom problems, use a combination of pruning / topping and LST for the best results. The vegetative growth stage pruning & topping should generate a good side branching structure, and the LST will keep the top leaders from continuing to tower above the rest of the plant. You can LST the side branches as well - the objective should be to always tie down the next dominant leader to create an even top canopy. For the best head room control, look into SCROG. And, like JMosley sez, it helps greatly to switch to 12/12 before she gets too tall. Think 1/2 to 1/3 of your final plant height to make the switch. Taken to extreme for microgrows, some people start seedlings under a 12/12 light regimen. It stunts the growth & limits yield, but also keeps height down. SCROG is better!!!

What I've done is to burry the stalk up to the first baby leaves, this helps keep the plant shorter. I read it in a gardening magazine, I tried it and it really helps when the plant is young but after about a month it doesn't do much. It also helps keep the young plant cool if heat is an issue. I don't know of any drawbacks to doing that either And yea post some pics! Sent from my iPhone using GC Forum
