ok question. how tall can i hydroponically grow plants in 10 inch mesh pots? i plan on getting six five gallon buckets and having a plant in each with 10 inch mesh pots in each bucket. i will use deep water culture with a seperate pump for each bucket. my growing space is four feet by four feet by eight feet tall (which is why i dont want to do sog, also i want to grow sativa) i found on the internet mesh pots that fit directly onto the top of five gallon buckets my grow space (for the flowering room) is 4x4x8. also can i fit 6 tall plants in a 4x4x8 space? or would that be too close together? im in a bit of a fluster about the whole deal as there are so many different options i cant quite decide between like 5 gal buckets and storage containters.... any input????????
Those plants would be massive depending upon basic shit like environment and genentics. Anyhow, beef up your pump(s) and use a glass airstone(s). Good luck!
I am using a 10" netpot. I will be using the 6" pots from now on because it takes much longer for the roots to show on the larger pot. You can buy 6" net pots that fit in 5gal buckets. If you have the room for monster plants, use the 10" pot because It can support some serious weight with all that hydroton in there.
I currently have a 5.5 footer in a 6" netpot in my bubble bucket, no problem. Could probably even use a 4".
These mothers are grown in a 3.5" net pots in 5 gallon buckets, DWC. They are 4.5 ft tall after I hacked two feet off the top last month. For veg, I would duct tape and zip tie pots to lid cause they will fall over around wk 6 from the uneven weight. Important, if you are going to do this then cut off every other tab on the lid so opening it is much easier and always cut away from you.
