  1. Of this list, how many of these things do you believe in. Tally up the number then rate your skepticism on the poll, the lower the number the more skeptical you are.

    1) God.
    2) Ghosts.
    3) Psychics.
    4) Bigfoot.
    5) Lochness monster.
    6) Karma. (As in a magical force that actually ensures justice)
    7) UFO's/aliens visiting earth
    8) Mediums. (they 'talk' to the dead)
    9) Horoscopes.
    10) Tarot cards.
    11) Ouija Board.
    12) Witchcraft.
    13) Santa.
    14) Easter bunny.
    15) Tooth fairy.

(yes I know the last 3 are a bit of a stretch but some may still believe :p)

  2. Ghosts and psychics.

  3. god and the lochness monster

  4. .............The world is a magical and mystical place:smoking: :smoking:

  5. God, Lochness, Mediums (to a point... I don't believe they're actually communicating with the dead, but rather, supernatural being), Tarot cards, Quijia Boards, and Witchcraft. I know from personal experience that witchcraft, tarot cards, and quijia boards are no joke - that stuff works if you really know what you're doing...

Horoscopes aren't always all that accurate, but they are based on stuff that is (numerology and astronomy)... It seems that when and where you were born has a lot to do with one's personality.

  6. the world is a mystical and magical place. i hate satanists

  7. Which means you don't know anything about satanism. My guess is you meant to say you hate devil-worshippers. Satanism is an egocentrical philosophy and has nothing to do with christianity or satan...

I'm very sceptic. I don't think Aliens have anything to do in this category...for me that's got to do with probability...

And Oiju-boards have been studied deeply before. ANyone who's studied psychology knows how they work ;)

  8. Im not so sure about alians, but i believe in mexicans!

Some of these are just plain dumb.

Ink on some cardboard can't do jack shit except show you that cardboard can get ink printed on it, or even written on it.

Some peoples sound waves comming out in a certain way can't connect with spirits or cast a fucking spell. All they do is show how talented they are at wasting oxygen. No ones ever seen annother person get turned into a frog unless they were on acid or something.

  11. bigfoot, lochness monster, and the last three are the only ones i DONT believe in

  12. 1) God.

Yes, our ol' time favourite schizophrenic god-figure. Razing cities and commanding fathers to kill their children in one moment, and curing the sick in the next. Shame all those big "miracles" happened so long ago, none of them left for us living now. Actually, I can't quite remember a single grand "miracle" happening since humanity started to record history in a methodical reliable manner. Wonder why?

    2) Ghosts.

The human imagination can be quite persvasive :)

    3) Psychics.

Also known as scam-artists feeding on naive and/or desperate victims.

    4) Bigfoot.

A mountain-ape of that size would not be quite so easy to hide from the abundance of daredevil mountaineers and their cameras that have virtually trawled every mountaintop in the last 100 years.

    5) Lochness monster.

Loch Ness is not *that* big. For there to be a monster of some kind swimming around in there, it would have been discovered by now. Hell, some nutters have even systematically used sonar on the entire lake finding nothing but schools of fish and the occasional submerged treetrunk. And even if there were a monster down there, it couldn't be lonely now, could it? To keep the species going, you'd need a momma-monster, poppa-monster, auntie and uncle monster, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers-monsters. In short, you'd need a whole friggin monster-family eating up every single fish, clam, algea and whatnot.

    6) Karma. (As in a magical force that actually ensures justice)

What happens happens, you play the cards you're given by chance of birth and situation. Ofcourse, dooing good to others hightens the possibility of getting some good in return. And vice versa. But that is basic human behaviour. Smoke someone up, and you'll prolly' get to be smoked up back. Smack someone over the head, hard like, you'll be smacked back sooner or later.

    7) UFO's/aliens visiting earth

The close encounters tales roving through popular culture is just that. Tales. Getting whiffed up into a spaceship just to be sexually probed and then returned to wherever you where. Incredible stories require incredible proof, and ever since this UFO craze started around 1950 (coincidentally around the same time sci-fi movies about UFOs came out in droves. UFOs and Aliens beeing a metaphor for evil commies invading america ofcourse) absolutely no single shred of evidence have been presented to collaborate any of these tales. None.

Not that that rules out ETs monitoring us and our planet ofcourse. I'm pretty convinced that life is abundant in our universe. And quite a few places there will be sentient life. Here on earth, we got millions of different species, but only one that is sentient. Only one that is able to change the enviroment that surrounds us and create a civilication. And scattered around the universe and our galaxy, there will be more sentient life. But the galaxy (not to mention the universe) is a pretty big place. And little inconspicous earth is a tiny little speck that goes more or less unnoticed unless you know exactly what to look for and where. Ofcourse, in the last 70-80 or so years we have been pumping out highpowered radiowaves like a beacon. Anyone intelligent enough out there to have invented radio, will know exactly where we are once they pick up those signals. But again, the galaxy is huge. 70 lightyears (Radiowaves travel at lightspeed remember) is nothing. On the scale of things, if earth was the galaxy, our radiosignals if transmitted from the Eiffel-Tower in Paris, would not even have reached the suburbs of Paris yet. And as we all know, in France (and Paris) there is plenty of life, but intelligent life however is scarse to non existent, and definately not upto picking up the signal. Much less return it or drive over to the Eiffel-Tower and have a looksie at what's going on. The signal got to reach Holland or Germany before anything like that would happen. So we still got a ways to go. :p

    8) Mediums. (they 'talk' to the dead)

    see 3) Psychics...
I'd put priests into this category as well come to think of it.

    9) Horoscopes.

Apparantly, our lives are directed by the stars and planets. Not to be a skeptic or anything, but the discovery of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto is pretty recent. Pluto wasn't found until 1930. Horoscopes however have been around for ages. My question is: was any horoscope given before the discovery of these planets valid? And why aren't the moons of Saturn and Jupiter included into Horoscopes. Afterall, most of those moons are bigger than Pluto. A few are even bigger than Neptune and Pluto put together. Following the twisted irrationality of Astrology (upon which Horoscopes are based. Not to be confused with Astronomy, the scientific study of space) these moons should have a significant effect on us here on earth.

Not to mention, exactly *what* influence does the stars and planets have on our lifes on a day to day basis? Apart from the moon causing the tides of the ocean, I can't really think of anything. Can't be gravity. The computer-monitor you're looking at right now got more gravitational pull on you than do the moon and any other celestial body combined.

But the stars are pretty to look at, I'll give them that.

    10) Tarot cards.

A paraphenelia used by flimflammers, kinda' like the crystalball and all that. These cards they deal out in some elaborate kind of solitaire, and apparantly this tells something about a person. What really happens is the Tarot-solitaire player performing a little trick called cold-reading. Fishing for a reaction from the subject by pumping out questions and suggestions. Counting every hit whilst dismissing the countless misses. Much like "Psychics" and "Mediums" do. I prefer to play poker with cards myself. Ace high!

    11) Ouija Board.

Simple idiomotoric function where the participants themselves provide the answers they seek. Psychology have explained this phenomenom countless times.

    12) Witchcraft.

The only thing witches are good at is making tea and burning incense. I'm pretty sure a good lot of them get mighty high from time to time though, and that's a good thing. Might colour their imagination a bit, making them believe in "strange and mysterious" powers they are able to control by chanting gobbledigook. I'm pretty miffed that I haven't been invited to any of their dancing around naked around a bonfire whilst kite-high parties, but the so-called witches around here aren't all that much to look at, so I'll get over it :D

    13) Santa, 14) Easter bunny & 15) Tooth fairy.

Cute stories for kids. Much like religion is for adults, only religion isn't cute. It's heinous, revolting and plain dangerous.

  13. Awww... but that's no fun! Your world is bleak and boring! Stop being such a realist. I agree though. :p

  14. ooooo how does it work!?! I wanna know! :smoke: heh

I do believe in God, but not the biblical version of God. And I use 'believe' very loosely 'cause I just try to keep an opened mind and not belive in anything, instead try to look as everything as a possibility. With that said I am very, very skeptical ;)

So yea, with God and Karma I have high faith in.

As for Tarot card.. with my experience with them they work. My sister knows how to "read" people and she did me 2 years ago and everything she told me came true. Pretty crazy stuff actually! :smoke:

  15. I believe in UFO's. To not believe that other intelligent life forms in the universe is pure ignorance. Think about it. There are trillions upon trillions of stars in the universe. Most of those stars are the center of a galaxy that contains multiple planets. To honestly believe that none of those planets contain intelleginent life forms is ridiculous. Just because we don't have the ability to travel vast distance through space to find out for ourselves, doesn't mean there is no one else capable of doing so.

Out of those countless numbers of planets to think that only one has life living on it is pure ignorance. period.

  16. That's why I worded it 'ufo's/aliens visiting earth.' I would never rule out the possibilty of life existing somewhere besides our planet. I wouldn't call it ignorance to believe life only exists on our planet though. Noone can say for sure either way.

  17. Yea. I havent really ruled out anything, accept organized religion, but that is from my personal experences with it.

  18. aliens, lochness monster

  19. I had to come back to this thread. Not happily.

I swear I keep seeing something in my hall and my dumbass oblivious dog is sacked out. I'm getting goosebumps and I swear it sounded like something whispered my name. Could I be that high? Surely not.

  20. I belive in re-encarnation and that the meaning of life is to learn and ounce you learn everything you are a complete soul but a lot of souls (wich if you expand your mind enough you can see there orbs atatched to people by "rods" thats why your memories that arent really scarry are in third person and you can see auras its all just energy moving from thing to thing thats all death is its jkust energy) just chose to make a heaven and go to it but some re-encarnat and learn more and more don't ask me how I know this i just know its true like the re-encarnated dalie lama knowing all that shit

    -peace bitches
