How Much Room Is Needed ?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by NebbieGrow09, May 27, 2009.

  1. I am thinking of making a 2 chamber grow closet. Part for veg part for flowering.

How much room would I need for 2 plants. I was thinking 3 feet wide by 2 feet deep by 6 feet high.

The veg section would be 3 feet wide by 2 feet deep by 2.5 feet high.

The Flower section would be 3 feet wide by 2 feet deep by 3.5 feet high.

Is that enough room ? Can I determine the size of the plant ?

  2. To give you some ideas, SOG grows are usually a square foot per plant. Growing bigger plants will require more space. For example, outdoor grows need 2-3 square feet. SOG height is about 2 feet not considering light space while outdoor grows can be up to around 5-6 feet tall average. For a low space height, and since you are going with two plants, you didn't mention if they are clones but a SCROG can reduce height while also helping provide great yields if done right.

  3. What is exactly is a SOG grow ?

For instance you usually go from veg to flower at about 18-20 inches.

Once in flowering does it stop growing ?

  4. That should be enough room. In fact, from the standpoint of your box's footprint you have room for quite a few more than 2 flowering plants, 4-6 could fit.

Topping, fimming, LST and scrog are all methods designed to keep the plants low (sticky threads available on most of these at the top of this forum).

Plants definitely continue to grow into flowering, in fact they could easily double in size. But again...using the above techniques you can keep that tamed. My cab is 4' height and I use LST, and I usually have room to spare (the plants at harvest are still under 2' from top to soil).
