How Much Longer Can I Keep Vegging?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by SteadyBlowed, Jun 7, 2014.

  1. First time grow, 6x6x6 space, 1000 Watt MH goin 18/6 planted some clones in 3 gallon buckets with some real good soil two weeks ago today. Mostly Indica, or Indica dominant hybrids with a few sativas thrown in. When I planted them they were all between 5-8 inches tall and about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks old from what I am told. In the last few days I have been getting preflower like crazy. I want them to be bigger before before I switch them to flower but realistically how long can I delay this process? I will get some more photos when I get home but as of today not only the little white hairs poppin everywhere but now these little amber babies you see below. I'm as new to this as it gets so any assistance I can get is greatly appreciated!

  2. as long as you want pretty much...if you keep it at 18/6 theres no reason that the plants will start to flower. UNLESS they're auto flower?

  3. there was no mention of them being auto from the breeder, they are claimed to be elephant (http://bcseeds.com/indoor-elephant-bud-p-31.html) . I did have a power issue my first week after transplant and my ladies had a day they unknowingly to me spent probably 13 hours in darkness, I wonder if one day could do this?

  4. Just remember they will at least double in size.

  5. No, one day of 13 hours of light wont set in flowering...especially earlier on from seedling.
and pretty much you can veg as looong as you would like.....as long as you keep this ^^^^^^ in mind! GL

  6. just looked at your pics again....i think you may be overthinking the situation because of the darker color on those pistils. And us noobs read everywhere about amber trichomes and pistils equating into harvest/end of flower time....so i think those amber pistils got you thinking you got a fire lit under your butt and need to get on it.

If thats the case, you should be good man. just keep the lights on 18/6 and it'll stay in a veg state. Light cycles are the determining factor of when those buds will starts showing up (unless ruderalis/autoflowers obv)...and seeing the preflowers is just part of the process, think of it as a chicks pubic hair!ha shows sexual maturity pretty much.
