I am currently building my bubble buckets and been taping them up to make them light proof, I've been putting the buckets close to light and I can see very fine amounts of light, just spots. Now this leads me to my question, how much light causes algae growth? Will I be OK with just a tiny amount of light, or should I buy more tape and make sure there are NO spots at all?
yeah buddy sure will. My air hose hole was a nano millimeter bigger than the hose and i got algae. ALOT of algae in a short period too.
thats nice to know i have a 4 gal bubbler thats been going for a month with 2 plants in 4in pots ive changed the water 3 times so far but my air hose is on the top of the lid an the hole is a lil bigger then the hose an im using some small stones but i dont think much light will get through that so do u think i shout fix the hose and maybe the rocks to or is it ok i havent seen any algae yet but it did look like a thin film on the tub last change not sure what it was it was kinda brown or realy real dark green sorry not tryin to take anyones post
