Doing dwc hydro, using house and garden aqua flakes. Years and years ago when I grew U was told to divide feed chart by 2. Is that still the consensus? If the feed chart says 1400, and I’m doing 700, what would happen? Would I yield less? Would it take longer to finish? I mean they look healthy but like everyone, I can’t help but to wonder if I’m shorting myself and by how much? If using half nute strength as chart am I halving my yield? Even worse? In week 4-5 of flowering and at 550-650ppms and everything looks fine. What is the ‘symptom’ of a plant with nutes, but not as strong as it could handle? Any thoughts? Should I increase my ppms? And to what? Hell I have no frame of reference yet on any of these strains to know if I am on track or not. Here is a blue OG @ week 4-5: Under 600w hps. pH is non issue. Meters are good and calibrated.
4-5 weeks is the amt of time in 12/12, not necessarily from start of flowering. Actual flowering is like 3-4 weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I run an EC of ~1.4. It was up to 2.0 this morning (way too high). I try to keep it in 1.4-1.6 but am only using a small res as I mind her everyday. That's for a constant drip system (actually 5 min on 5 min off). If you are feeding less than that, like say 5 times a day, you will probably need to increase the EC.
ppm is important as you can monitor how much ppm the plant will take in. As soon as you start to raise your ppm too much, the plant will respond with how it reacts to those heavy metals. If it is too high ppm the plant will begin to show signs like nute burn for ex. For a soil or coco, people will measure and compare their ppm input to how much ppm is in their runoff and from there you can tell if your plant is taking up all of the nutrients, needs more, or needs less. I mont not too sure if it works the same for dwc hydro. Hope this helps a little! Looking good though!
I upper them to around 700ppms. Going to increase it to 750 today. They all seem ti be responding very well to the increase in nutes. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
