So, I plan on growing in a few weeks and i have my list of materials all set but, i just don't want to get too over zealous and ruin the whole thing. Im going to try to grow Aurora [I doubt it'll come out to look like Aurora Indica Marijuana Seeds that but id really like it to] and Purple. So, I just have a few questions. About how many plants can a 4'x'4'x4' Growing box grow with 12 CFL's and a small desk fan? Is fox farms soil recommended? How large should the pots be? Will the Purple be purple [or the aurora be colorful] if i keep the desk fan running? Thanks a lot for your help.
I'll try to help ya out.. first i would say read the stickies at the top of this forum, it'l help you with how many watts per foot and a lot of the questions you have now.. so i'll keep it short in simple. 12 cfls you can use for a 4x4x4 but im using that many in half the size myself. (you need 2 sets of CFLs to grow.. 5500/6500 for veg, and 2700 for flower.) -- you should be around ~320watts of CFL. you could do about 6plants. -- 100w for the first plant, and 50w per plant thereafter no 1 desk fan will not be enough. if you're using only desk fans.. get about 3. fox farms ocean is a very good soil. you can start seedlings in a red cup. and move to a 1/2/3/gallon pot. since ur in a 4x4x4 either of those should work. -- im not too sure about coloring.. but i believe the fan has nothing to do with that. if the strain has/is purple.. it should turn out that way.
The reason i ask about the coloring is because they say that during flowering the buds will be more purple due to the temperature. But i just wondered if keeping it closer to room would make it look better. Thanks a lot for your help, man.
also.. i myself have about ~250w of CFL and only 1 plant under it.. the more the merrier (as long as you can keep it cool)
