Keeeeriiisssttt just grow the plant and enjoy it , the freaking numbers games erode the enjoyment , I mean don't get me wrong here I do track what I get and yeah I cull nonproducing strains. But then other folks grow 'em well and don't do so well with what I do well with. What the hell is with the continual attempts nowadays to make all this fit in the " numbers box"? Even commercial agriculture can't be completely stuffed in that box , and that's across the board for wheat , rice , barley , the various orchard produce etc. Sometimes you get more , sometimes you get less , just get used to that *fact* of life and keep moving on.
Hhhmmmm maybe not , maybe some folks will learn something perhaps even it will get turned into an " advice" thread. That should frost the OP's ball right up. And as I cited not everything yields the same , nor will most folks get * every* strain to perform for them. When a strain fails for folks many of them need to look in a mirror and subsequently go back and analyse where the causative factors might have cropped up. As an example , me/ I can do Skunks , Blue crosses and other NorthCoast genetics while blind crippled and crazy , with one hand glued to my pecker and the other scratching my ass. OGs , not so much , gotta genuflect and bow to them daily , light candles to fourteen saints , do a Shaman Dance and offer a bull calf sacrifice to Odin to get any sort of yield. Doesn't mean OG is bad , it's means I can't grow it for shit , haven't found " the combination" , doesn't mean I won't try 'em again , especially since I've got the deadHead and the Platinum coming in a genetics trade. One's sytem needs constant analysis , but in the end turning it into a pure numbers game is a short-term outlook , erodes the pleasure and for some folks is a route to a freaking ulcer.
Damn , but Rumple brought up a DAMN good point. Would y'all rather have 2 grams a watt of B grade or would you rather have .5 gram a watt of triple A grade? In the longterm quality beats quantity every time.
There is one, but no one ever uses it. You can just use grams per kWh. kWh automatically brings time into the equation.
grams / Kwh is decent , there was a "grow room efficiency" formula I saw one time, but it was complex... I say , who cares ! grow dank buds !

im running 75/80000 lumans in 15 sq ft and thats still not enough they say now 7000/10000 lumans per sq ft used to be 5500/7000 lumans wounder why it keeps changing.. I couldnt tell you the watts to gram ratio tho.. 1 400w HPS and 6 200w CFLs daytime now I have to switch to 300w cfls suck..

My last grow was 1.4 with mostly 600's two 750 and 2 thow wows. There are a lot of variables so again this is one way to measure your efficientness. Now that I'm growing back in my home tho I see my numbers dropping. I would like to say 1g a watt is the goal for most ppl.
Depends on the strain and how they yield on what I expect. Also if I am running the same strain or multiple strains under one light. Lower yielding plants(ex. chemdawg) I shoot for 1.5+ oz off each plant. I run 6-8 plants around my 600w vertical hps in a 4x4 space. Pulled a pound off 4 NYC Diesel plants under the same light with 28 days of veg.
