how many amps - CFL

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by poa, Sep 12, 2008.

  1. first post, thanks for everyone's previous info.

i'm curious to know how many watts of CFL I can run off a single 15A circuit?

    thanks in advance.

  2. Probably more CFL's than you could actually fit in a flower room. I dont believe I have ever encountered an issue with running quite a few of them due to their fantastic reduced power requirements.

Watts divided by Volts(120) = Amps. You do the math

    A lot, I know that.

Once you get to 10-12 amps stop putting in more lights though.

10 of those 26w ones would use just over 2 amps, so I dont even think you need to worry about doing any math.

  4. home depot had contractor packs of lights 30$ for 10x26-watt daylight 6500K :hello::hello::hello:

  5. thank god, i suck at math. thanks for the info, i kinda figured i wouldn't be able to even approach the max, but i thought i'd check with the experts first. thanks again.

  6. Be sure to include all electricity consumption on that circuit in your calculations, not just lights. Could include fans, pumps, etc. for your grow or even energy use on the same circuit that is not for your grow.
