Think about all the people who have ever lived. The chances of having a good life in a good day and age is really lucky. I bitch about the smallest things sometimes. I get mad when my cable is not working. Compared to previous generations we really do have life good. If I am bored, ehh I'll smoke some weed watch a movie. 100 years ago if you are bored you are pretty much fucked. No porn to look at, no dank to smoke, and chances are you are gonna have to work your ass off just to survive. Share your opinions on our generation.....REALLY BAKED
+rep Sometimes I'm amazed at how lucky we are even to have the ability to exert force on material objects. Like, there's a cup on my desk. WTF is a cup? It's a bunch of weird-ass matter particles or something. The fact that I can, through sheer force of will, move my little robot arm around in the world and PICK UP the cup and put it somewhere else.... shite. That's cool. Everyone just takes it for granted.
i had a good laugh at a friend of mine who was getting VERY frustrated because his lighter wouldn't work. he didn't find his inability to manifest fire in an instant as humorous as i did
..... yes I do. What the fuck is wrong with it. For christ sakes dude I'm offended anyone bashing me for saying that. U do know that the majority of the human population LIVES on less than a dollar a day! Right? So stfu and be thankful.
I'm kind of amazed that anyone would disagree with his statement. Most of the world is ridiculously poor. If you are born in a first world country, you should consider yourself extremely fortunate.
Yeah I mean being in this generation IS really nice, imagine a world where music was only on radio stations, records and concerts... wow. However though i really feel like we all need to start putting our minds together in this generation to finally reach like peace amongst ourselves. Notice how everyone is sooo seperated from each other in the world? We are all in this together, we should stop worrying about the names of our high horses and just like put our power of thought into doing good for everyone..
I'm just surprised to say that wealth is what makes one 'lucky'. Money does not bring happiness. More often than not it is those who have nothing in a material sense that have the most insight and happiness with their relationships, be it individual or community-scale. I'm not trying to argue that being poor is lucky either; being rationed a bowl of rice per day as sustenance is not going to be conducive to happiness. But I would rather argue 'How lucky I am' to be born in a part of the world considered to be 'free' -- certainly moreso than the peasants of 1600's Europe. I consider myself to be lucky to have been born into a family who are loving and supporting. I am lucky to live in a time where knowledge is, for the most part, readily available and self betterment is always a possibility.
the word is freedom my friends. some people dont want to admit that america is free. I'm ready to die for it.were the shit and aint nobody fucking us up im arab but if i have to kill some arabs I will to send my kid to college
To what extent are you willing to die for it? Are you willing to go to Afghanistan to punish the ones who 'attacked' you? Are you willing to go to Iran in an unjust war for oil control and profiteering? If you said yes to either of the two options above, I would argue you're not better than the ones you wish to kill. We as humans, like any animal on this planet have the right to defend themselves. If Canada was attack tomorrow, and there were people with guns marching for me or my family, I would be willing to kill another human being to defend myself. I believe that to be just. I would not, however, join an army and blindly follow kill orders; for a job, or to assert your 'we're the best' mentality, is not much different than killing in the name of religion. I don't want to make assumptions or accusations, but it seems to me that you are filtering your thoughts through patriotism, which only teaches you to hate people you've never met, and take pride in ideologies and accomplishments that you probably had nothing to do with. See, People as a whole are what 'kick ass'; When we divide ourselves with labels, we make this world a miserable place. It makes us vulnerable to manipulation and deception. You would better your lives, and the lives of your children, but at what cost? the life of an innocent person who happens to live on the other side of the division?
nah ill probably end up in the navy on a mostly secure deskjob because im smart and ill study and kick the asvabs ass. I will be doing it for my daughter, im only 20 and a father to an almost 2 year old. im a survivor in the truest form, ill die for an unjust cause in the name of fatherly love
And I truly respect the maturity you've taken in your role as father. But with this kind of mentality, what kind of values are you going to be implicitly teaching your daughter? Racism and Bigotry? Are these what you want to instill in the mind of your children, the ones who will carry your legacy? It is commendable to seek a steady decent paycheck for the life of you and your own; but you are making some very very sweeping generalizations. A vast majority of the people who are being killed in these wars have never harmed or threatened your lives. These are also people's children who are being killed. Can you imagine if a stranger came in and gunned down your little girl? Because it was their job; to provide for their family? The devastation that would come into your world? I would not wish it on anyone else, as I would not wish it upon me.
Don't you think every generation has thought this? Don't you think human beings 1000 years from now will look back at us and say "Damn, life sucked back then!" We sure do live in a great time, but we're a progressive species (That one was VERY hard for me to type). The only thing that irks me is our current expenditure of resources. Nasa's budget since 2003 have been 93.5 billion. The War in Iraq has cost us over 570 billion. But then again, since when has man not been almost primarily devoted towards killing itself? And we've still came this far?
The average person in the United States today lives a life equivilant to the King and Queens of The Medieval Times. Now really imagine just how much luck actually isn't involved at all. Me typing this is no more amazing then a tree blowing in the wind or a cat hunting a mouse. Good Day & Peace Out
ehhhhh its all relative. if you lived in ancient times you would still have the same amount of happiness because simpler things would make you happy and you would be used to the inconveniences. we are lucky because of where we live (in a country with a high standard of living) as opposed to when we live.
this is your life what you gonna make it full of blessings and laughs or guns and strife/ I suggest get married settle down after college with a wife/ drink 40s and smoke weed stay lowpro/ always be stuttin seedles clothing cuz everyone know what I'm doing who im boning/this is your life said twice make a choice make it count or raise your voice
"Angels on the sideline, Puzzled and amused. Why did Father give these humans free will? Now they're all confused. Don't these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around? Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys, Where there's one you're bound to divide it. Right in two. Angels on the sideline, Baffled and confused. Father blessed them all with reason. And this is what they choose. And this is what they choose... Monkey killing monkey killing monkey Over pieces of the ground. Silly monkeys give them thumbs, They forge a blade, And where there's one they're bound to divide it, Right in two. Right in two. Monkey killing monkey killing monkey. Over pieces of the ground. Silly monkeys give them thumbs. They make a club. And beat their brother, down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here. Cut it all right in two Cut it all right in two Cut it all right in two Cut it all right in two Fight over the clouds, over earth, over canyon They fight for our love, for our blood, over heaven, Fight over love, over sun, over nothing, they fight till they die, and for what? For their lives ending. Angels on the sideline again. Benched along with patience and reason. Angels on the sideline again Wondering when this tug of war will end. Cut it all right in two"
no wealth doesnt bring happiness but living in a country where the water is potentially fatal to drink cuz of diseases, where food isnt scarce, where we live in homes that are warm in the winter/cool in the summer etc.. is alot better than struggling to survive and constantly starving, and fearing for your life cuz of wild animals like lions n shit
