How Long Would It Take To Heat Up A Glass Rod To Be Able To Light With It?

  1. I know I could test and find out, but I keep thinking back to when I left a glass pan on the stove, and turned on the wrong side of the stove (thinking it was the other side) and having the pan explode loudly into a million pieces...if I was standing in front of it, I could have been blinded! Shit! So, I fear that would happen if I left a glass rod to heat up. I plan on heating it with candle light though, so. How long would that take approximately? Minutes or hours?

  2. A candle probably wont work. Your best bet would be using a torch

  3. It wont I've tried it. You need it to be red hot. So you'll want a torch. Preferably butane

  4. Well that's a bummer. I don't have a torch!

  5. You could buy one? They're not thattt expensive.

  6. 20 bucks on Amazon for a butane creme brûlée torch.

  7. Bed bath and beyond also has a good creme broule torch
