How long will my arms hurt?

  1. So this friday my friend and I started working out together just doing the basics you know like using the bench press and dumbells and shit like that.
    My friend took weightlifting in Highschool so he is used to it,i jsut started and my arms fucking hurt. I cant even straighten them today with out extreme pain. how long will this pain last, i really wanna get back out there but it hurts jsut to lift my dick and take a piss non the less lift weights.

    i have this pain for a bout 2 days yesterday wasnt bad but this morning it got to be almost unbearable.
    I have to walk around like Rodger from American Dad becasue it hurts to much to straighten to my arms.

    For real though, the first 3-4 weeks of a weight lifting program is gonna make you sore, no doubt about it. Replace the nutrients that you're using, ESPECIALLY protein to rebuild the tears you cause in your muscles when lifting. Diet is the #1 thing when you're talking about building your body up.

    It's also important to do active recovery. Flex those in-pain muscles to get blood and nutrients to them, stretch, and deep massaging your muscles is really going to start recovery and limit that soreness to a day or 2.

  5. At first it's just rough man. I am now to point where only my legs get sore after hard workouts. I do p90x and things and it doesn't hurt that bad anymore
     
  6. Day 1 and Day 3 feel about the same. Day 2 after working out is usually when I'm the most sore. It doesn't bother me much though. Stretching helps a tremendous amount. Do it two or three times a day.

    Usually the first 3 days you will feel sore, but the pain you are describing to me sounds like the pain is where your forearm meets your arm, around your elbow. If you do have this sharp pain inside you elbow you may be doing the workout wrong in terms of technique. Make sure you and your buddy know the right way to do every workout so that you can prevent strained arms or any injuries. Other than that keep loading up on protien, eat some protien bars between meals even if your not that hungry. Good luck OP and have fun getting ripped!
