How long we got left?

    I am waiting for a usb microscope to arrive so I can't see the trichomes up close. How far away till harvest time do you think? Pic below.

    You don't need some ghetto "microscope" to see trichomes.

    It is hard to see the amber ones with the naked eye.

    I love my USB microscope. Beats the hell out of the pocket one I used for years.

    Don't let the lying surface trichomes fool you into harvesting early.
    Strong lights / Sun artificially ripens the outer layer of the plant well before she is actually ready.
    This side on view of a Sugar shows what I mean. Amber on the lighted side and clear as glass underneath.

    I have the usb microscope now, it is darn hard to hold steady though. Is it best to take a bit off to use as a test bud and zoom in when still on the table?

    Yes. I've always taken tiny snips inside to a table and chair.
    Under 50X magnification a fingernail clipping sized fragment is HUGE !!!
    I have to cup my hand and cover with the other or the sample just blows off my palm before I can get inside.

    I set the scope up on it's stand and get it close to focused. Then tilt the base a tiny bit to get a fine tuned look.
