hey guys im growing in a 4x4x6 grow tent and i only have a 600w HPS above my 6 clones veggin for about 6 days now, so far no problems how long should i be veggin for before i switch to flower cycle? i understand 1/3 the size you want it to be before the switch but is it any different when using ONLY HPS? and should the light be raised higher since the HPS is a 600w? if so how high? my plan right now is veg for 4 weeks 18/6 than switch to flower 12/12 for 4 weeks
If heat not an issue then you can have your light as close as you can to your plants with out damaging them. (there is no such thing as too much light,sun light much much stronger than any HPS lamp...) people usually wait for a month before switching to 12/12 , some switch when plants get to the desire height.
Are you growing in soil or hydroponics? Are you doing any training/topping or au naturale? 14 days should be sufficient for clone veg time on average. 4 weeks sounds entirely too short of a time to harvest ripe fruit though.
