I have sexed my mothers. After switching light cycle back to 18-6 how long should I wait to cut clones?
They are large enough to cut clones now. How soon from switching the light cycle can I cut? How long does the plant need going from flower back to veg before I can safely cut?
Right or wrong? but I like for my cuttings to be as large/old as possible, but not in flower, they (older clones) seem to survive better. >12"
I cut mine 6 to 8 inches at least. 1 time I took 1 over a foot and a half long with side branches that had side branches starting just to see and it rooted and took off just as quickly and it was outside Sent from my LGL322DL using Grasscity Forum mobile app
If U don't plan on keeping all possible clones, I'd cut & throw away all the smalls in that mess in the middle of the plant so U can see what's what & defoliate a bit. Is that plant buried a bit too deep in it's pot???
You should do it the other way around. Cut clones then flower as normal. Some plants can take 2 months to reveg and if you cut your clones during the reveg period then the clones will reveg too. I mean it'll still work, but you'll have some wierd reveg growth on the clones and they'll have to fully reveg before they start growing normal again. Essentially it can delay the clones growth for several weeks or even months.
Wait two weeks atleast between cloning and changing light cycle or when you see the clones starting to grow, this gives the plant/clone time to adjust to it's new "purpose". Always remember when you make a cutting/clone it gets "stunted" somewhat and has to "recoup" from it.
Yep waiting on the mothers now. Going to finally take cuttings this weekend as they have all reverted. I cost myself time, but I learned.
Are you doing what they call a monster grow? I forgot to add you only need to worry about time on the clones, the mother plant will not be effected by the cloning.
I doubt it. I have 6 different mothers, all different strains, and 2 4x4 tents that I plan 24 plants in soil each tent.
