I think you're confusing the drying with the curing. Curing time depends upon the type of extract (Hash generally requires more curing time than buds, probably since its pressed and therefore it takes more time to cure from the inside) and the type of curing. Some people just give a 2 weeks cure, while some a year. And some even place it inside Poultry farm Incubators for a few months, while some just place them in oven for a few minutes Basically, the idea is to slowly dry out the hash, the slower, the better, b'coz the smoother (sometimes even sweeter, especially in the case of hand-rubbed charas) the flavors will become. Here, people roll the charas into small marble sized balls, warp it in hot foil. A zip- lock bag i filled with 3-4 of these balled in they are buried underground in the end of September (some even go the extent of curing only during certain moon positions, but i think that's all bullcrap) throughout the snowy winter, to be taken out in January, the following year.
