Apparently my cousin kept some bagseed from 2005, germinated em a couple weeks ago and they're already growing fine? He said he kept them in mason jars but I was just wondering if he was bullshitting me. It didn't seem like it but idk. Can seeds really last up to 5 years?
They can last for up to 10 years under the right conditions. Any place that's dark, dry, cold, and lacking in oxygen will store a seed for a very long time.
yea they can last years longer than 5, but i would think he'd of had to of kept them in almost perfect conditions to last the 5 years he said
soma says he got his g13 male from a 13 year old seed. im sure they start a little slower might have to wait weeks before you give up on them sprouting but 5 years sounds reasonable
I've germed plenty of seeds over 5 years old. If they are stored properly they will keep a long time.
Just started a tiger seed that I have had stored for at least 3 years so I hope it will yield for me.
how did you store it?keep us posted on how you make out with this 3 year old seed.curious to see peoples outcomes with seeds 2years+
