The shooting at that movie theater in Colorado. I dont know if he was on marijuana but it looked like he was on drugs. Any tragedy even remotely related to drugs doesnt look good for marijuana or. If its drugs, people think its all the same so marijuana always gets mixed in with crack, meth, heroin. The shooting might turn everyone more angry and conservative and as a kneejerk reaction, come out with their pitchforks and vote no on anything peace or civil rights. And the recent news report showing that marijuana causes iq to drop in kids is going to scare all the parents into voting no to 64. All of this coming together just a few months before 3 states vote on legalizing marijuana?
To be honest weed won't be legal for another few decades.. if that, it might never be legal in my lifetime (at least over here in the UK) im always gunna be breaking the law Obviously its disappointing news to people in the states because it affects the chances of their states legislation but lately the news they are coming/making up with about MJ is only getting worse.
I saw the news report on marijuana reducing IQ if kids smoke it over here in the UK, too. If anything, parents should want it legalized, they've got to realize if their kids are going to smoke it, they're going to smoke it whether it's illegal or not, so at least if it is made legal they can have the peace of mind that they're not going out and getting it from random, "sketchy" people.
Even cops recognize that marijuana doesn't cause violence in people. A couple random shootings is nothing when you compare it to alcohol. And before I go any further I have not heard anyone claiming that the batman shooter was on weed and thats why he did it. People don't think like that. If anything the guy wasn't wired right in the head to begin with. Just circumstance if so. With alcohol you can see it directly related to violence, with weed you can only claim a relation. Most of the major murders or shootings in my city were alcohol related. We had some police officers get shot a year ago by a crazy kid who didn't smoke weed and only drank. A month ago we had neighbors get into an argument on their back porch and pull out pistols. I wouldn't worry about any of the events you mentioned effecting marijuana legislation. And why do people always worry about something effecting marijuana legislation on this site. It is a stoner website but you sound like the biggest group of whiney selfish people when some major accident/event happens.... And all you guys do is worry about how it will effect your joint.
There is really is no excuse for pot to be illegal, we all know this, that's why were on this forum. Someday I hope they give us the right to germ a seed and work our asses off for 4 months to produce a fucking plant that comes from the ground...give me a break, I'm gonna do it whether I'm "allowed" to or not
