How is a Drug Test administered?

    I was questioning how a drug test would be administered to me if I were to have one. I heard it was mainly done pre-employment, I also heard it was told to them prior to going to their first day of work but after they were hired. I was hired at a pizza place and even on the application it said nothing about drug testing. I don't have any reason to think that I will be drug tested, just am extremely paranoid being that it is my first job. Both people I know that have taken drug tests have both went to other places to do it and were informed before hand. Is this how it would work for all places? Or is there a chance that I walk into the place for my first day of work and they say "Pee in this cup". Or would they just not have me do that without warning? I realize that fast food places usually do not drug test. But I was mainly asking was do they ever have you take the drug test at the workplace itself? Or would they send you somewhere to do it? The difference for me is if they sent me somewhere my friend agreed to pee in a cup and I would keep it in a 5 hour energy bottle which has been washed out and let air dry for a couple days. So was hoping people could explain how the drug test happened for them.

    They make you go somewhere else. They usually tell you after your interview, but I doubt they'd waste the money to test everyone in a pizza place. I think you're good man.

    Do they always make you go somewhere else? Yeah I wouldn't think so either, they all seemed to be older though and didn't want to be caught off guard without having a way to pass it.

    The pizzeria I work at doesn't drug test ever. You should be in the clear.

    I couldn't see any reason why you would get drug tested, but there's always a chance that you will.

    The friend idea is good, but just make sure you have enough pee, as I kind of forget exactly how big a five hour energy bottle is. Maybe try two of them?

    Anyway, make sure you keep hand warmers or something on them, so they don't get too cool, causing you to fail the test.
