How hot? 1000w

  1. 4x4x6'7 tent, 1000w cool tube, 440cfm duct fan with carbon filter venting into the room the tent is in, the room is 11ft x 11ft with a 5000btu air conditioner within three feet of the tent running on high cool with high fan 24/7, could anyone give me idea if this setup is going to stay cool enough?

Depends on your ambient temps but if that ac is in the tent you should be fine but it has to be in their, between the ac and that light exhausting in the room it'll be close best bet is to cut a hole in the ceiling and just patch it up later

The ac isn't in the tent, it three feet from the tent, I could possibly set it up so the ac is directly being pulled into a bottom vent hole but there's no way to put it in the tent. And as to the hole in the ceiling, could you explain what that would be for

Well if the ac is not in the tent your exhausting the Hott heat from the light and it's going into the room, your ac is just fighting to keep the room cool not your tent, if you cut the hole and exhaust your light into that and then pull the air from the ac you said into the tent I do not think you will have problems unless your ac isn't on, what is your ambient room temp

The ambient room temp is about 70-75 degrees without the ac, but is about 80-90 degrees daily outside and coming to fall and it should be about 60-70 for ambient room temp then, and are you talking about cutting a hole in the roof of the tent or the ceiling in the bedroom?

    Thank you for the help

  6. Yea exaust into the attic of your place and get that ac to the tent you'll be fine prolly run around 83 or so

    Edit

Cut the whole in the ceiling sir you don't want to excuse into the room with a 1000w

That's not a possibility, I cannot alter the ceiling of the room, or I would void my lease agreement, And i need to be able to disassemble my setup once a year for an annual inspection

I wouldn't go with a 1000w get yourself a 3x3 tent a 4" fan with a scrubber and an led. All that will run you under $1000 and save you on heat an power and bulbs every 8 months you won't have to worry about venting outside te room Cus the led don't run that Hott. Your ask in to get caught in the situation your in if you go any bigger

  9. I already have the tent fan and carbon filter, I don't want to go with led's I don't have any experience with them and would rather not dip my toes into lighting I have no experience with

Your asking to get caught any other way in that situation led isn't much different n lighting there's really no way to exhaust your tent properly without it getting sucked right back into the tent

How would I be looking to get caught?

Could you recommend a led light that would be equivalent to the 1000w hps/mh

There not one that I am gunna say is equivalent but there are setupa guys have out there that will perform to that but even if you went with a 1000w in your room your heat is gunna be out of control I wouldn't go more than a 400w in that room maybe a 600w dimmable and run it at 75% even then your gunna have heat issues and as for led it all depends on how deep your pockets are , Think about this with a 1000w you have to buy the ballast the bulb the hood or tube a fan and ducting to cool it then you have the monthly electricity consumption from all that and then you have to spend another 50$+ on a decent bulb every 8 months with an led the initial cost is up front and after that you won't have to have as much exaust because there isn't as much heat as a 1000w no bulb purchasing also plus a lot of these companies are offering decent to good warranties for malfunctions due to normal use it's strictly personal preference and money situation

I like both and am using both but eventually I want to switch out to all led, Apache led is good California light works is good advanced led is good ( they have 3 year warranty) there are respectable companies. But I'd your strictly set on hps go with a dimmable ballast so you can control your heat

  14. The 1000w iv been looking at is only 300 it is dimmable and that's in my price range, I already have the tent and duct fan, I really can't afford to spend 600 on a 300 watt led panel,

  15. What would you recommend for wattage of led for my 4x4 tent, and could you recommend a reliable website for purchasing them

Your gunna be spending at least double that for a 4 x 4 tent triple that amount is what your looking for , I'd go with a higher end ballast bulb and hood at like a 600w for 300

  17. If I was growing in the summer, in my current situation, it would be a 2x4x7 tent with a basic 600 watt ballast and the cheapest reflector they had.(not air cooled) I would have a small ac unit in the room, a 6 inch fan exhausting the tent into the same room, and then a 4 inch fan blowing into the tent which would be pretty much right in front of the ac, the 4 inch fan will help keep the humidity down and keep some of the pot loving pests at bay because they don't like all the air movement, and it will aid in getting the cool air into the tent. I've never ran a 1000 watter so I guess you might want to wait for more responses but my temps never get over 80 with the 600 watter in a 2x4. When I start growing again I will be running a 4x4 with 1200 watts in the same manner I described and I don't anticipate having a problem, but again thats just my 2 cents. The fans are loud as fuck so if your in a apartment or have neighbors right next door then you really need to re-think what your doing.

  18. Do you think a carbon filter is reliable enough to be able to vent the light out the window?

    Most defiantly

  20. I already have my 440 Cfm fan running and ac going full blast is twice as loud as the fan, theres no worries about the noise
