How has marijuana positively affected your life? Will quote you with permission!

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by LovingTree, Oct 11, 2010.

  1. I was diagnosed with ADHD from a young age. This left me unable to concentrate through out school. I never took any medications because the side affects were actually worse than the ADHD itself. The ADHD also keeps me awake at night, its not really insomnia, my mind is just to busy to sleep. Marijuana calms me down and allows me to think straight. It allows me to get a good night sleep so I am well rested the next day. Thanks to Marijuana I have achieved good grades and graduated High School. I am now well on my way to making a six digit salary.

Back in November of 1989 I was hunting for deer. While dosing off under a tree I was biten by a tick, which I swatted/killed. Damn thing gave me Lymes Disease. It took months, 12 Doctors/Specialist, including the proffessor of Internal Medicine at KU Medical Center, he swore on his career that I was not infected by Lymes disease. Finally after another of many blood test, my blood was infected w/Lymes bacteria. By then, several months had gone by. It was fruitless for me to be cured via massive dosages of antibiotics. I've been handicapt w/Chronic Lymes disease since then. Over the course of 20+ years of taking large amounts of prescribed narcodic pain killers, which has now caused other problems w/my health, I looked at using marijuana for my pain and depression last fall. I was lucky enough to come across some real good hydro bud, but at a cost of $400/oz. No way could I afford that each month, so I researched how to grow it.
Today my life is so much different, my life has real value again. My 1st grow, that strain takes care some my pain, depression, nausea, muscle spasm, appitite boost, clear thinking and a spiritual feeling and desire to Go Home. Still trying to find the right strains to fight all of the lymes disease effects. However, I have done more this past year, than I did the past 20 years. So if that's not life changing, I truely don't know what is.

  4. I am from CT..just turned 18 yesterday..I have been a heavy user for 2 or 3 years now. I use a vaporizer and a perc bong..marijuana has had a huge effect on my life. In my opinion mostly positive. It gave me a whole new aspect on life, and opened up my creative abilities. Which is probably part of the reason I am doing well in college. It allows me to get a great night sleep since I have mild insomnia. It also is the only cure to my terrible anxiety..i refuse to take that posion they try to prescribe you

  5. To be honest it hasn't affected me in a positive or negative way.

  6. Marijuana has all but ended my severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that I've had since my early teen years. I no longer break down when I smell certain smells, or see or hear certain things. With MJ I no longer have the constant nightmares, meaning I no longer have to fear going to sleep. I also cannot remember the last time I had a panic attack, if you've had those then you know how nice it is for me to be able to say that. I'm not saying it cured me, but I know as long as I have MJ I no longer spend most my time wishing I were dead.

I could actually name several other things MJ has helped me with, but the above is definitely the most obvious. I am selling most my possessions and moving to WA next year so that I can be a MMJ patient and no longer have to live like a criminal. As pathetic as it may seem to people that don't understand, MJ is one of the most important things in my life, because without it the quality of life simply isn't there. :)

  7. It's helped me with my insomnia, when i was about 15 almost 16 i started getting night terrors every night that eventually kept me up. It sooned turned into insomnia, due to the insomnia i started having radical mood swings. I'd be calm and the slightest thing would set me off in a fit of rage, i would punch holes into walls, throw chairs and even yell at my then-GF. I started smoking and it would help me sleep at night and even calmed my fits of rage during the day. I still suffer from insane insomniia but im able to get a few hours of sleep in now, and my fits of rage are now completely gone :hello: . A few weeks ago i also cracked my heel and since i dont have insurance i couldnt go to the doctor. So i got some dank to help me deal with the pain, it worked perfect and now my heel is almost completely healed and i didnt have to spend thousands on doctors and prescription pills.:smoke:

  8. I am someone who has recently just started smoking on the regular, after trying it out a few times in the years before. In all honesty, it's helped me gracefully with sleeping problems I have been having, and it's also uplifted my mood, as life just hasn't been going my way. I've used it to further relax myself, and I actually tried smoking a little before going to work and found that I had an eerily increase in focus on doing a good job (even the head coordinator noticed and asked me why I was more into my work than usual ).

All in all, I think marijuana works great when used for positive reasons. There are so many things that I feel are better now. My overall mood is better, and it makes television, which is usually unbearable to me, entertaining as well. I socialize better, food tastes great, music feels harmonic. I have to really thank my roommates one day for allowing me to let go and just vibe. :smoke:

Hope you do well on that paper btw

  9. I read the entire thread.
Initially from the OPs post, I was going to suggest heading to the medical section. Instead the good folks of GC have risen to the occassion, my hat is off to you all! :hello:

Also check out some of the youtube videos of folks with skin cancer that used Bud Oil in a tincture to eradicate skin cancer. :smoke:

  10. Turned 18 yesterday yet you have been registered since 2009. Tisk Tisk

  11. I've had sleeping problems for like 7 or 8 years and after a while it really fucked me up. When I'm high is the only time I ever get more than 3-4 hours a night. If I'm completely blazed I get like 8-10 hours and I'm a different person the next day.

I'm pretty laid back anyway but smoking keeps me from worrying about things that don't need to be worried about. I've never smoked to get away from problems but sometimes some menial shit will be eating away at me that I can't shake. So, I call some friends and blaze one up.

And getting high outside is just awesome. I get a massive sense of freedom being high in nature, as corny as that sounds.

I even find some boring homework topics interesting when I'm baked.

It also helped me eat enough when I needed to bulk up haha.

  13. Granted, I'm not somebody who is in dire need of medical marijuana, like those suffering from cancer, AIDS, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, et. al., but marijuana has given me a completely new outlook on my life, and probably has saved me.

I've had bad depression for years, but never got medicated for it, which led to a very anti-social personality, insomnia, massive weight gain, complete apathy for life, and two attempted-suicides. Tie that in with lower back problems, shin splints, and other trivial maladies that added up to form one gigantic "disease," if you will, I was one of the gloomiest, meanest, depressed pricks you've ever met.

This all continued until I got high my first time. After hitting that bong, tasting cannabis's sweet scent, I knew something was changing. I started smoking with my buddies monthly, then weekly, until I began smoking daily (.1g-.35g). In the two years since I started smoking, I've lost weight, met a wonderful girl who I am now in a year-plus relationship with, I've been able to socialize easily, my back pains are subdued along with my shin splints, I only have the occasional depressing thought, and all in all, I'm very damn pleased with how I've turned my life around.

I know that these changes could not have occurred without my smoking weed for the first time, as my mindset before smoking used to be "I'm right, and I don't need to look for other options in life." After sparking up, I've learned to be more compassionate, understanding, empathetic, tolerant, and accepting of all things in the world. Spiritually, I've never been more pleased.

This is why I love smoking, and why I will continue smoking. The world needs cannabis, and not just so we can all chill the hell out and realize how foolish we've been these last seven or eight decades. No, the world needs cannabis, because it is the one "drug" we've seen do more good in the last ten years then our Western pill facsimiles.

  14. marijuana has really given me another outlook on life, for good and for worse. I realize what it's like to be addicted to something mentally, and how it's already hard for me to get out of it. I know more drugs would be so much worse and i'd become a druggie very quick, i even stay away from cigarettes and chew because i know theyre really addicting, and everyone that i talk to who is addicted to them, tells me not to.

  15. Cannabis is the most beneficial and amazing plant there is and has been being used for tens of thousands of years.
Cannabis has saved my life before I started using recreationally & medically I was depressed and very sick, my life was falling apart, now, after a year of daily tokin' I am the healthiest I have ever been and a happier person, everyone around me can tell that I am so much better then before and my relationships have grown exponetially.

It dosn't matter what you call it, weed, gnaja, cannabis, marijuana, mary jane.... it's a plant and it can save your life too if you let it.

  17. Short and Sweet. It has helped me relax a LOT as a senior in high school, and through the relaxation I was able to keep a focus and not go crazy trying to find a college to go to. You think you have all the time in the world to go from a senior to college but you don't realize that the college deadlines are somewhere in the early second quarter of high school. I would literally have panic attacks about being a failure at life with all this stuff at once but, when I was able to relax I had a clear head and could focus on one task at a time getting things done. Rather than just worry constantly and not do anything about it.

  18. I've had sleeping problems all my life and I mean all of it, since birth. It was hard for me to go to sleep, meaning it was hard to shut off my brain and let the dream begin. And I've always been a very sensetive sleeper, I'll wake up at the slightest sound. I've been smoking weed for a couple of years now and I can say with absolute certainty that weed definitely helped me with my sleep and therefore can help other people. Now it's a lot easier for me to start sleeping, it doesn't take an hour or more like it used to, but about 10-15 minutes. That is enough of reason for me to keep smoking it, but as we all know weed has a lot more positive things to offer. For example, I've become more calm than I used to be. I'm jsut as active and stuff, but I won't just snap at someone since it's not as easy to wind me up now. I've almost stopped drinking now, I drink only a couple of times a month and I don't even get drunk, just a couple of drinks is enough. I appreciate nature and understand life more now. Answers and solutions just come to me naturally. Since weed allows your brain to function differently a lot of things become clear, you are also reminded about the natural way and flow of life, so you learn how to trust and follow your instincts that were forgotten or ignored because of the rutine of everyday life and all the information that is forced onto you all the time.

You can quote this if you find it useful.

  19. I dont have any medical issues but before I smoked I was kind of an uptight person and would let the littlest things worry/piss me off at times. That would always carry over to the nights making my mind wonder all over the place giving me an awful time trying to get some sleep. Now a bowl before puts me in perspective and lets me get a good night sleep. :smoke:

  20. Gives me inspiration and ideas, I can think from a different perspective and theres nothing better than smoking a joint on your sofa in the evening :smoking:
