How Far Do Cfls Need To Be From The Plant?

  1. My homie gave me a clone he didn't want since he was moving so I decided to start a little grow. It went about a month on a little desk light vegging at 24-0 because I've haven't had the money to spare until today, so I went out and bought 4-100w cfls, 3 of those double light socket adaptors and a light timer.

But since I'm growing it in a little dresser that it might get pretty close to the plant later so I was wondering what's the closest they could get without damaging the plant?

  2. Not too sure about 100w and how much heat they give off. Depending on the shape of it but generally CFLs can be placed inches away from the plant like 2-4 is optimal. Place your hand where the plant is and see how hot it is. If it feels like the heat from the sun on a cool summer day then its fine where it is.

Just have it to where it won't burn the plant. If your skin is burning then it's definitely too hot for the plant
