ive read way to man different theories... just want a straight answer. they're only a couple of days old they're currently at 2ft from the plant. please help
2 ft sounds good at 2 weeks. I'd say drop it down to about 12 inches in a couple of weeks. I have a 1000w and mine are about 16 inches apart.
I do the tried and true hand trick. Put your hand at your canopy. If you can't hold your hand there for a minute because it's burning you, then it's also burning your plants. There is really no "perfect" distance because there are too many variables. If I have a strong fan blowing directly on my bulb, I can put my lights closer. Same thing if I used a cool tube. If I use neither, then obviously I can't have it as close. Ambient room temperatures make a big difference too. It all kind of comes into play, and that's why I found the hand technique is really the only sure-fire way. Yes, it seems very barbaric, but it works. I burnt a few plants in my day, and since using this method and checking daily, I've yet to burn another. You can check out my grow for my yields .
thanks for the replies guys! hmmm i can put my hand like 6" to the bulb though? i'll try it again, brb and yes, i've seen your work
