How does tolerance work?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Roflspammer, Jun 22, 2012.

  1. There's probably a thread but...

Is tolerance based off of amount of weed smoked (weight wise) or amount of sessions smoked (swag wise)?

  2. depends how fast your metabolize process it and how much thc is in you.

  3. Kinda both, the quality of the bud and amount u smoke daily are the main factors.

  4. damn good question, I would say a combo of both...but im too stoned to figure out why I woild say tht... Dnt wrry about tolerance man. Its so irrelavent. Just smoke until ur content with ur high

  5. Lol.. tolerance isn't something that has standards. Like there is no set standard for how much weed will raise your tolerance. If that makes sense.

Everyone is different. It mostly depends on the quality of weed and how often you smoke. If you smoke only on the weekends, your tolerance is going to be significantly lower than if you smoked everyday.

Really though, don't worry about your tolerance. Smoke when you want. If you feel like your tolerance is too high, cut back.

  6. If you smoked a gram in .25 sessions four times a day would your tolerance raise more than if you smoked the whole gram at once?

  7. Never now untill its legal and real test are ran..

  8.

  9. In your brain there are neurotransmitters, they attach to receptors it's a way your brain communicates with different parts of itself and the body, you've probably heard of dopamine, it's a neurotransmitter that causes euphoria,

Marijuana breaks down when consumed and it's the cannabinoids and THC binding to receptors in your brain that create the high, these receptors can get saturated the more they are used (and the more at once, the quicker they are saturated), and time is the only thing that helps them unsaturate

It's because of how this works, receptor down-regulation with marijuana, that keeps you from being able to overdose on it
