Ive heard people say the goverment makes money off the prison but i dont see how. I figure there feeeding clothing ,houseing etc these people and i cant image you can be a very productive unit of society while in prison. Ive seen in movies prisoners making lincense plates and i can see that but im not sure if its true. Probably is but im not 100%
im pretty sure that in the U.S something like 75% of all license plates are made in prison? don't quote me on that, but there are many ways they can exploit the massive prison population.. someone more informed than me, or google will be able to tell you more but im positive the U.S prisons system is running on big profit margins. Otherwise, gay rape porn? or lesbian rape porn for that matter, all about equality yo.
i was wondering the same thing as i just heard chris rock on his stand up special talk about how the prison loves to make money of the brothers and sisters who go to jail
slave labor, funding? plus all the jobs it supports, from cops to lawyers judges paralegals janitors for the lawyers office ? idk fuck the police
Its PRIVATIZED prisons that make all the money. Look up the number of Privatized Prisons popping up in the US. your jaw will hit the floor
The prisons making prisoners fight for show.. They make bank! Bunch of big heads go there and bet on fights. Go to youtube search felony fights
Government doesn't make money off prisons or anything else. Every dollar government has was stolen from me and you. The people who own the private prisons are making tons of money, all paid for by our taxes, inflation and debt.
privatized ones get paid tax dollas, but only use a fraction of that money on the prisoners AKA horrible living conditions.. that doesnt even count all the products that they make, but pay the prisoners 40 cents a day to make.. license plates, woodwork etc.
The prisons receive wayyyy more corrupt government grant money than needed to actually run the prison. Each prisoner is valued on paper more than in the actually prison , where the living standards are shit. Plus the prisons buy all the stuff they need to run it in bulk and pay virtually no money at all to house prisoners . It's like 75k or something for each prisoner added to their cage in prison. And all of the money comes from the tax payers is the whammy. Sucks The more prisoners, the more buisness . Then the ceo and shareholders split the rest. Profit

The whole base of prison is to make money if that wasn't the case we'd just throw them somewhere else if the U.S. really wanted to "help get justice, protect the people, ect." it's lying and exploiting the fact they make these people work for less than an illegal mexican
