how do you germinate a really old seed?

    how long does it take for a 24 year old seed to germinate? so far I been trying to germinate for a month. a few seeds cracked but afterwords didn't do anything. i am starting to think they are dead or something.

    Unless they have been stored in close to perfect conditions, seeds that old are probably all dead.
