How do you feel about miracle grow potting soil?

  1. I feel as if my girls are moving rather slow. Could it be the high bark content of the mix? Ph is good, temp is good, soil is moist. Right now running 2 65w cfl 6500k until they are able to handle the mh. Humidity is a little low around 25-30[IMG]. The first green came sunday. She actually popped up I believe thursday. Is she developing ok?[IMG]

  2. Yes everything looks good. Its a sprout. Focus in keeping her short and stoutSent from my HTCEVOV4G using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  3. Miracle grow i hear is terrible. Have never used it.Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Grasscity Forum mobile app

  4. Your plant looks fine.

I wont use miracle grow to plant anything i give a crap about.

  5. Well I had my pineapple chunk break ground today. I know I won't be using mg to transplant. I'll go with organic this time

  6. MG is horrible. Getting an organic soil is best for the plants. Even more when they are young. Don't get me wrong you can grow in it. You can grow in almost anything. The problem is MG has time release nutrients that are not designed for cannabis. Therefore, your plant will not trace their full potential with it.

  7. I'll never buy MG either, but the guy who grows some of the best between my growing crew swears by MG. /shrug. Just a matter of finding what works best for you

The ph was perfect. Phos level was very low, as was nitro and calc. That must be where the time release cones into play. What do you recommend as far as feeding? The schedule that came with the trio says the first week to add the "grow big" 6 tblsp to a gallon. I added only 2 just to see how they respond. I've also been putting them under a 250w mh (mainly using 2 6500k cfl) for about an hour or so a day. Just trying to introduce them to it. But I poured out the water with the little bit of nute in it. I just boiled tap water (which raised the ph like crazy) and balanced the ph. Then I rinsed one of the paper towels I had germing with it bc it was germing real slow with the other stuff (actually wasn't germing at all after 2 days) and within 12 hours it had popped. So I'm learning a lot of new things here lol sorry for the novel.

  9. You can put them under both MG and cfl. They should be fine at this point. I'm unfamiliar with fix farm nutes. I'm an organic guy and like Earth Juice. It's organic and is good stuff. I also mix a nutrient rich soil and transplant into it after they out grow the solo cups. The fox farm nutes have chemicals in it where EArth Juice is a mixture of guano, and meals. It's a concentrated organic tea that you feed to give the plants a boost.

I find It tends to be a bit to strong for most strains, and can cause nutrient burn and stunt plants.

Your plant's alright, seemts to be stretching a little could probably do with a bit for light, other than that looks healthy

  11. very high salt index....which is bad..the salts are in a more intense for so will cause the salt ions can pass through all plant cell walls and thats why root burn occurs then up too the plant leaves..

I had to transplant the seedling recently so I had to take it easy on her. The pineapple chunk is green now and happy. The tijuana broke she'll today finally. I somehow knocked over the critical solo cup last night. I came in this morning to a mess. Hopefully it still comes out good. I believe the seed itself was covered under the moist soil so I think it's ok.

  13. Using any type of dirt with nutrients mixed in is a horrible idea.

Where the fuck do all these people decide to grow with miracle grow?

Hell I literally can't even find a fan ANYWHERE. I flushed the soil as much as I could prior to planting. I won't be transplanting into mg that's for sure. I'm going to another state this weekend to get a few things to help out

  15. You can grow with MG...  I did it once upon a time..  The biggest problem is that your weed (despite it's genetics) will be very harsh and mershy...  Something about this soil causes sodium to build up in the nugs and then the crack and snap when you smoke it.  It tastes like your smoking a sock, I won't do it again.

Promix is very very good.  It is a perfect neutral (beginner friendly) medium.

Ahh yeah I didn't take into consideration not everyone lives in a state with a grow store on every other block (like Michigan).

I like to use Sunshine dirt it comes pre mixed with perlite. Ordering online is not always a bad idea sometimes you can find them at wholesale prices right from the distributor and wont have to pay middle man prices at the billion dollar profiting grow stores.

    Where about do you live?

About 2 hours outside of Nashville tn. I've looked online but the shipping is always outrageous. Understandable though bc of the weight

Shit man take a drive to Michigan and stock up on a couple bales of dirt. If you only got a small growing these $30 dollar bales contain 3.0 cubic feet

It's berry bomb. But the mg has high bark content so I think the roots are having to work their way around them. Could be the cause. Well this pic was taken yesterday or day before. It got a little bigger since. 2nd nodes are starting now
