How Do I Pay For Seeds Without A Cc?

    im gonna be ordering some seeds this winter and am curious as to how to pay for them. i thought a prepaid CC would work but they dont work for international sales anymore. 
     
    is money order the safest way? do you send them cash in an envelope? never ordered before and want to be as discreet as possible

    International money order is the safest.  Cash in the mail is subject to theft.
     
    If you live in Canada like me you have the option of paying via email money transfer/interac e transfer with some of the Canadian breeders.  Super convenient for me.

    Attitude won't take an international money order any longer. I'm not sure about the others. You can always take a small risk and send cash - no coins. Hide the bills in a blank white paper folded. I use my debit Mastercard.

    I've sent cash to nirvana and it worked fine. Make sure to insure your package/letter going both ways.

    Just get a greendot or moneygram its free all u need is a ssn . If your 18 it shouldnt be a problem and if u dont know it ask your parents.

    New user here.  I want to order seeds too, but am concerned about how to pay for them.
     
    Prepaid credit cards don't work internationally (I'm in the US), and most of them want you to register an address anyway.
     
    Mailing in a money order or cash is tempting, but doesn't law enforcement/post office know the mailing address of the seed banks?  If they pull a letter addressed to a known seed bank and find my order with my name and delivery address inside, that would be bad (even if I'm having it shipped to a friend's house).  Even worse if they opened it, noted my info, then sent it along, and then knocked on my door in a couple months.  Is that not something that ever happens?  A better solution would be if the seed bank let you fill out an order form online, then gave you an order id.  Then you could mail in your money order with just the order id to identify what it is for.  At least that wouldn't give the cops your address on a silver platter.  None of the seed banks I looked at do things that way, though.
     
    Using a regular credit card seems like a bad idea, especially since I would be growing at home, which is the same address on the credit card.  It would probably be fine, since I doubt the credit card company cares what I'm buying.  But if police looked at my credit card statement, it wouldn't be too hard to figure out what that odd purchase from the U.K. was for.  Or is the thought that if the cops have enough to subpoena my credit card records, I'm screwed anyway?
     
    Bitcoin seems the safest payment method, but it adds a whole other hassle of needing to obtain them anonymously in the first place.  And not all seed banks accept bitcoins.
     
    Am I being too paranoid?  How do most people pay around here?

    Definately being too paranoid. I could see if you were purchasing hundreds of seeds, but they won't waste their time if you're only buying a few packs.

    Luckily me and D_Urbmon can use Email Money Transfer which I friggin love.

    This is misinformation. Money gram is not free. Sending or receiving.

    Secondly, the green dot money pack card is a reload-able card. There is no value until you load the card plus $4.95.

    Bit coin is an option if you go through the proper channels. There are loadable Visa/MasterCard gift cards that you can use. Very stealth.

    Cant you use the prepaid debit mastercards like at wal mart? I was wondering the easiest way to order too without a regular debit or credit card? I was wanting to get a prepaid credit card. But does it really not work?

    Hi Darren, The Vault accept international bank transfer as an alternative method for payment for seeds - when you checkout just choose "Bank Transfer" as your method of payment and you will be given the details that you need for an international bank transfer payment.

    Hi uremom3; the problem with prepaid card is that they are not registered to your name and therefore online payments cant be processed as they need a name and address that the card is registered to.

    I've used attitude and nirvana. On both I used my debit/ccard and called my bank ahead of time to Inform them of foreign charges. Not sure what good it did, but my buddy who works at Chase recommended I do it. Had no problems, charges showed up as an international gift purchase on both accounts. Highly recommend both companies and always if possible insure your package.
