Sip.....sub irrigated planters. There's many ways to make them with hard containers or fabric bags like smart pots. I'm gone alot for work and sips have made things so much easier. I grow organic no tills now but also used sips when I grew with bottled nutes. I would just let the sips run dry a few days before feeding and then not feed enough that there's run off. With my organic no tills I just keep water in the sips and the plant takes care of itself. I just use trays full of lava rocks and sit fabric pots on top. Moisture seeps up into the soil and life is good. Make sure you're soil is well aeriated with perlite or some other aeriation admendment
